Nightshift 31: M-A Block Hallway

Axel was pretty surprised to find the main hallway completely empty by the time he stepped through those double doors, shining his flashlight about before shrugging. At least this meant wading through less traffic, or in this case no traffic at all.

“You’d think people would be bustling out after all that racket,” He murmured grudgingly to himself. It was no surprise that the head doctor’s screaming was enough to rattle him awake. Though he did have his map completely memorized he wasn’t exactly sure where Second floor, East Wing, North Hall 2-B was besides the obvious. Maybe it’d do them some good to snoop around, but they had to be fast or else they’d get beaten to the punch.

The Nobody stifled another yawn, stretching his arms back as he nudged himself into the next hallway.

Daemon slipped out into the hall that connected this block of patient rooms. The corridor was empty, although he know that would not be so for much longer. He could feel his brother near, and so stayed where he was, waiting for Lucivar to make an appearance.

Lucivar stepped out into the hallway and was instantly greeted by the sight of his brother. He smiled and he knew that Daemon would be able to pick up that he was ready for some bloodshed. "Evening, Bastard," he said, his voice arrogant. "Aren't you going to congratulate me for not ripping anyone's head off today?"

These halls were always so dull, especially this early in the night. Kadaj merely rolled his eyes at the pair already in the hall and continued on his way, not even bothering to try approaching one of them. Mother had all but told him outright that he could be as selective as he wanted after all, and since they seemed so cozy where there were already anyway, what was the point?

He was sure he'd seen Daemon go past him, but didn't stretch his abilities to check. Ren wasn't the other man's keeper, not even that close of an acquaintance, and he probably didn't need an eye kept on him...

In any case, Ren took inventory of the corridor before moving on himself.

The hall was abandoned, and that was fine by him. Ken slipped through quickly, heading toward the hallway where Aya and Omi's rooms were.

The connecting hallway was completely empty, a sign of how quickly Sora had gotten a move-on. Unfortunately, that also meant that it was completely dark, meaning that he was forced to turn on his flashlight in the end.

Still, the trip across the hall was a short one, and he made sure to turn it off again once he reached the door that would lead him out. He knew that those batteries wouldn't last forever, and he wanted to do his best to conserve them.

Eager to see Kairi, he quickly headed through the door.

Momo walked to the center of the hall at the end of this particular block and faced the individual hallways leading down it. The threads were leading ehr down one of them... which one?

Kaoru's pace quickened as he neared the corridor of doom. He was going to rush through it and find Hikaru. And then Hikaru was going to hold his hand and never let go. If anything, that would prove it really WAS his brother and not the stupid ghost again.

There were a number of people already moving through the hallway, but Zuko ignored them and pressed on. He'd have to turn on his flashlight and possibly draw attention to himself to see the map, but he had a good enough idea of where he needed to go once and turned right out the doorway.

Even a tiny flame would have been useful...

"Why not go and grab a flashlight from another room? I'm sure they wouldn't mind if they saw a lady in distress," Jade finally offered after they made their way into the next hallway. As expected, there was no hint of remorse in his choice of words, but maybe it was because he expected no less from Anise anyway.

"Boooo," Anise booed, "I wouldn't stoop to stealing from other patients!" Not that she hadn't thought about it. Only thought! Besides, what kind of lawman made suggestions like that!? He had to be joking, right? It was hard to tell sometimes.

Without thinking, Anise had followed the Colonel into the M-Block. If he was going this way too, it was looking more and more likely that he was the Jade mentioned on the bulletin board. But it didn't hurt to make sure. "Are you meeting Colonel Mustang tonight?" If he was, the nosy side of Anise definitely wanted to know what for.

It felt a little strange, going in a new direction for the first time at night. Yukari had gotten accustomed to going down by the sun room, not taking a new direction into other blocks.

Once the shinigami and her teammate had left the hallway where Kimbley's room was, Momo stopped and leaned against a wall by the door leading out of the block. She figured Hokuto had at least one question and she'd rather get them out of the way now instead of when Archer was around.

"So--this mysterious figure is an alchemist?" Hokuto hadn't missed the mended sword, and as far as she knew only an alchemist could do that.

She wasn't going to ask too much, but Momo wouldn't have any qualms about simply refusing to answer some questions, and she wanted to find out what she could.

Jack kept moving. He didn't know if he wanted to try and use his key on his own now that he knew where it went. Or rather, he knew he did but he didn't want to risk injury to himself. He'd need another person to act as bait. But he needed to find someone who fit that role first.

Or maybe he'd just look for booze and a one night stand. The night was still young.

"Well, I see one of you is armed." Axel pointed at the pipe in question that Anise was holding. That made things a bit easier in the long run, but what about Ion?

"Don't you have anything to protect yourself with?" Judging from its size, it didn't look like there was anything 'weapon' shaped inside that pillowcase s/he was holding.

If Ion was willing to go, Anise wasn't going to argue it much further. As a Fon Master Guardian, this just meant she had to stay alert and make sure she did her job properly. "Okay... just a peek!" she conceded, following Axel once he started moving. As much as she wanted to play it safe, Anise wanted to know what was going on, too! It sounded like some pretty important stuff.

It made sense that Axel wanted to know where they stood as far as fighting capability, but it was still weird meeting people with no idea about the Fon Master's situation. Ion didn't need a weapon for protection! That's what Anise was around for.

Mason finally arrived in the hall he'd been looking for, and walked about halfway down it. Now, which room to raid?

Well, why not let the kid pick? That would make it more fun for him, take his mind off that awful brain thing these fuckers had done to him.

And truthfully, he didn't care. Still he stretched out his right hand and gestured ambiguously. "That way, I guess." Let Mason interpret the direction he had meant.
