TK waited, looking curiously at Citan. A lot of people and... well, things here seemed to have abilities beyond what he considered normal for a sentient. It all seemed too uncomfortably close to Jedi stuff for him, but if it helped him, he didn't particularly care right now. Unless there really were Jedi here. That would be another matter entirely.

"I didn't want to abandon you, but--" Here was the hard part, and Armand had to prepare himself for possible consequences. He'd already had one major argument with TK and didn't want to strain their relationship further. "Friends are hard to find here, but--" Again.

Spit it out. "But I'm worried that we're not going to make any difference, just us three, without cooperating with one of the larger groups somehow." Of course, he could be wrong. Likely he was, but feelings didn't work like that.

Citan focused his Arcane into a healing spell, listening to Armand as he channeled the energy into TK. It would ease the pain some, at least.

It left him feeling a bit drained, but nothing a moment of sitting wouldn't take care of.

"Well," he began, thoughtfully. "It would be a wise idea to take advantage of what they can offer. From what I've seen, these groups are organized and have a very thorough understanding of what we're dealing with." But he had his reservations. He didn't know these people, and he didn't relish the idea of sharing his own spoils. But... well, there was nothing to be done for it.

"Though before I make any decision, I'd like to speak with this Mustang myself."

Okay, that was weird. Whatever Citan had done, his feet felt... a lot better. He didn't have to fake that he was okay as much as a moment before. "Thanks."

"I'd like to speak with him too before I get signed off on anything." An organized group would be comforting for him, but he didn't want to just run to what looked safe without knowing if it really was safe.

"I understand," Armand told them both. "I only spoke to him on my own behalf, but I knew it would affect you as well, thus the reason I am telling you. It would be nice to stay together and still perhaps work to a greater purpose."

With his uncomfortable confession out and the soldier more or less healed, he ventured to say, "The doctor suggested we go to the basement again today. Does that suit you as well, Morrison?"

"It's certainly worth looking into." Citan stood, the wave of tiredness passing. He'd have to be very careful for the rest of the night. Thankfully he didn't rely on Arcane for fighting. He didn't have to.

He waited to hear what the other man would say - either agreement or contesting.

"I'm all for heading there again." It seemed like the only way to get further into this place and actually find out what was going on here. He didn't have much to defend himself with, apart from two halves of a broom handle, but it was enough to cave in someone or something's skull if need be.

Armand had even less than that to defend himself, but he wasn't much good with the weapons they'd found anyway. He bit his lip. "I suppose we shouldn't waste any more time. The monsters are probably plotting our demise as we speak."

Citan only smiled. "No, I agree. We have to pass through dangerous rooms. Best to try and pass through them before something terrible takes up residence."

He didn't know quite how good a fighter TK was, but he knew Armand wasn't particularly skilled in hand to hand combat. That left, at best, himself.

"Shall I take the lead?"

[identity profile] loyal-soldier.livejournal.com 2008-04-22 07:10 pm (UTC)(link)
TK nodded. "I'll watch your backs." He was more than ready to get moving. Standing around talking about the basement wasn't going to get them there, after all.

"Yes, doctor, perhaps you should." Armand nodded, and then looked around the hallway anxiously. "Do either of you want me to carry your light to leave your hands free?"

[identity profile] reanalyze.livejournal.com 2008-04-23 03:10 am (UTC)(link)
"Ah, thank you, Armand." Citan gladly handed the flashlight over, pleased to have both hands free.

"Let's be on our way." He smiled to both men and headed back to the hallway that would lead to the Sun Room.
