Nightshift 31: F-A Block Hallway

Anya was beginning to feel the adrenaline as she rounded the corner. Those zombie dogs the first night hadn't really counted as a fight. She hadn't been in a real fight since... since Buffy.

Oh dear god, what if this Kimbley guy had superpowers like Buffy, only his were way better than Buffy's? That was entirely possible, Buffy's weren't exactly the last word on awesome superpowers, no matter how much The Slayer liked to think different. Holy crap, she was gonna get slaughtered!

The vengeance demon cut off her nervous thoughts quickly. She'd promised to do this in order to get more good intel from that sin-type woman. Plus, it wasn't like there was much out there that could kill her.

She opened the door and stepped into the next hall.

"Sure," Argilla agreed amiably. No sense in one of them being unarmed. That was jsut asking for trouble. "I'll wait for you. Sometimes you have to take a little more time preparing if you want to win." Ugh, she sounded like she'd been spending too much time with Gale.

Shana shot her a grin. "I'll be right back, then," she said, before hurrying into the closest empty room.

She was only gone for little over a minute, but when she reappeared, she looked a little bit dustier and tousled, but she held a long pole similar to the other woman's in her hand, one end splintered and sharp from where it had broken off.

"It was a little stubborn about coming off," the redhead explained with a self-conscious grin as she held it up in explanation.

"By the way, my name is Shana. I realized when I was in there that I hadn't introduced myself yet."

The short wait was uneventful, nothing even seeming to stir in the darkness that she could sate her hunger on.

The demon nodded, looking the pole over and returning the girl's smile. "They are, yes. But they're still a decent weapon in liue of something else." Like an actual weapon or fully functional magic. She could do with some of the higher powered spells here.

"I'm named Argilla," the demon replied.

"Argilla," Shana repeated, committing the name to memory with a cheerful grin. "It's nice to meet you. Should we go find something to kill?"

Shana's cheerfullness was enough to make Argilla's spirits lift a little, like Cielo had always managed. "That sounds like a plan to me," she replied. We might even encounter something on the way."
