Day 31: Sun Room (Fourth Shift)
Though perhaps not entirely as successful as he wanted it to be, Homura walked away from lunch feeling satisfied with his efforts. Roland and Fai both had shown interest in the goal, and that was enough for the moment. Homura could be patient, had already been for five hundred years, and felt no harm in waiting another five hundred if he had to. He would have his goals realized, no matter what obstacles he faced, be they from the prison or those trapped within.
But now was time for business of a different sort, and the demi-god made his way to the Sun Room, near the common board. He made sure he could be seen from the entrance to the cafeteria, knowing that one stranger and one member of his own group both wanted to meet with him. It worked out well enough, especially given that the stated purpose of the History Club was simple.
Revenge and escape.
For now, Homura had no intention of revealing that it'd grown more complicated than that.

He'd call that a setback. Like they hadn't run into enough of those already. Least they had the experience to... well, to lighten the load a fraction. Not to mention each other.
... What was she? Test subject or no, there had to be a reason why she was here. What if she'd always been that thick? Had to be royalty wherever she was from, but that couldn't be all he'd learn from this book. There was something of interest there... and he was gonna get to the bottom of it. Being straightforward wouldn't cut it, though. Everything was in one ear and out the other with her. He also knew her origin wasn't a subject to bring up at the table, and dayshift was one massive tea party, as far as he was concerned.
"Hey..." Dean left his spot a distance away from Diva, approaching on slow, cautious steps. He stopped before her, a hand on her shoulder to gently encourage she halt her pacing and take notice of him. He grimaced at the bandages, giving them a careful stroke. "Aah... You alright?"

Whatever happened, however much they weakened her, she could at least kill one man who got on her nerves. And given the flow of time, where she stood to surpass eternity, the Chiropteran knew she'd win no matter how long it took, or deaths she had to rack up over the years.

The rejected hand hung limply by his side, an expression of growing irritation and the barest hint of guilt seeping into his features. The wound on her neck was a result of miscalculation. He had to pay for it somehow, and if this was her preference, so be it.
At any rate, she could thank him for trying, risking his own right arm in the process.
"Look, I'm sorry," he said in a quick and quiet murmur. "If I'd known, I'd 'a..." Killed the bastard. A wry smile began on his lips as he thought back to what had started the whole thing. "Hope you left him sore for the night."

Diva didn't know what this was supposed to lead to.
"Don't be stupid, that's hardly important," Diva exclaimed. "Don't apologize to me for that." Was he an idiot? Just how far did this disguise go? Saya-neesama had had humans protect her for no good reason, and die for her all the same. Her younger sister, however, had not made an ally of a human in all the long time she'd been alive. "That's not what I need."
