NIGHSHIFT 30: WALK-IN REFRIGERATOR
(From here.)
Apparently, now he wasn't even any good for picking locks. When he had asked if the entrance was in the refrigerator and Hitsugaya had confirmed that, the boy had reached into his pocket for his trusted syringe.
But then Hitsugaya ordered Renji to break the door down. In normal circumstances, Artemis would have made some comment about brute force and how crude it was, but he kept silent and watched Renji break the lock on the refrigerator. Now, more than ever, he was certain there was something wrong with him. He was feeling depressed of all things. Just because he was being overlooked? Shouldn't that make him angry or upset?
He stepped into the next room and was immediately glad he was wearing both his jacket and coat. Artemis didn't like snow, so he certainly wouldn't get along with a room set to at least 22 degrees Fahrenheit. At least... he hoped it was at that temperature.
Moving in the direction that Renji indicated, he immediately noticed a discolored tile on the floor. So that was it--the entrance to the secret of the Institute. It didn't look very epic, that was for certain.
Artemis kneeled down and slid the tile back, revealing a flight of stairs. He stood up and backed off, waiting for the Captain and Renji to make the first move.

"Good work, Fowl," Hitsugaya said, readying his sword and stepping down the stairs and into the darkness below.

There were other people in the kitchen, but luckily they didn't seem to want to hurt Mason - they appeared perfectly content to just leave him lying on the floor in his misery.
Once they had gotten the refrigerator door open, Mason followed them in, still crawling on his hands and knees because it was too painful to stand upright.
The reaper made his way to the freezer and curled up amongst the various frozen foods. He could almost hear the other reapers bitching about how un-hygienic he was being, but at this point he could care less. He let one breath out, so he could watch it turn into mist, and then he passed out.

Kimbley barely glanced around for any enemies. There was no blood, no screaming; therefore, it was unlikely there was anyone hiding, ready to jump out and kill them all.
The tile was already loose, revealing the staircase. Kimbley arched an eyebrow, shrugged, and slipped down into the darkness, glancing back before he was completely gone to make sure Roy and the blonde man were still following him.
"Don't get lost."

Still, there was also the chance that those wounds on his back would get re-opened, if the basement was as dangerous as he said.
Taking note of the loose tile's location for next time, Roy made sure not to hesitate in following after the other alchemist. He didn't scare easily, so descending into some unknown area wasn't too much of a problem for him.
