Nightshift 30: M81-90 Hallway

The radio crackled to life, and a strange voice emerged. Archer had been wondering what purpose the radio served. He doubted it was psychological warfare via Enya, but hey, he wouldn't put it past the Institute. Deciding to pocket it, he opened up his closet and geared up. That essentially meant putting on a large gray sweater and overlarge coat. Gray definitely wasn't his color.

Archer was about to leave when he remembered his pillow. It had felt awfully hard. Searching it revealed a durable, black flashlight. He'd probably need this too.

Pausing for a final glance around the room, Archer decided he was ready to leave. He exited his room, ready to see what horrors Landel's had to offer.

"Nah, he didn't want to talk about it." Peter used the open closet door to shield himself as he quickly changed out of the patient uniform into something much more comfortable (in his opinion). Sure, it got a little stuffy at times, but it was what he was used to. He still had no idea where the outfits had come from, but he was glad for it. Being able to switch back and forth between Peter Parker and Spider-man was going to make his life a lot easier, so long as he didn't make mistakes like the one at dinner.

People disappearing? Well, that was certainly ominous, and it could mean a lot of different things. Once changed, Peter closed the closet door and walked toward his bed, glancing at Logan through his mask. "No, I don't think so. Doesn't sound good, though." He let out a sigh and was about to sit on his bed when the intercom went off -- well, that was fast.

Peter had been expecting more of the same, but then came the big news: the radio man was dead; murdered. Peter had never followed the rivalry between the two men very close, but now he wished he had so he would have a better idea of what had led to this. "Man, that's harsh. And it probably means he wouldn't hesitate to kill one of us if he had to." It wasn't something he wanted to admit, but they had to be realistic about it.

Damn, coulda used some infermation outta tha kid. Logan too listened intently as Landel rambled on once more. Radio man?!? Who tha hell?!? Logan had no idea what he was talking about. He didn't even realise they had radios, much less what the significance was. However, Landel had just outright admitted to killing a man. And whilst Logan had killed more than his fair share of men himself, this particular situation only served to strengthen his hatred of that man. The way he'd said it...reminded Logan too much of Creed, of a killer who had no morals. Logan himself only killed when he felt he had to.

"Well then," he said, spinning the knife one more time so that it lay flush against his inner right forearm. "Ain' no poin' standin' aroun'. Time's a-wastin'" With that, he stepped to the door and through it, confident the Spider was right behind him.
