Nightshift 30: M51-M60 Hallway
It was unexpected to Sai, actually being led back to his room before the night came. He'd been sitting, planning for the event of darkness overtaking the institute and them becoming surrounded by monstrous orderlies. Even Haku had been on his toes. While it was for the best that they'd been returned to their quarters first, the ninja couldn't help but muse on how he was apparently a poor judge of what actions the staff here would take next.
Being in his room meant he was able to arm himself and change before nightfall. A glance over the black outfit revealed that any damage it had sustained the previous night had been repaired without leaving a mark. Curious. He took the opportunity then to claim the two trowels under Kurikara's mattress and wrap the bit of extension cord around his waist. The wire brushes he left for now. He still needed proper ink.
To Usopp's, then. Other plans would be made after he arrived.

While they hadn't made a plan as such, the prosecutor did still want to meet with Detective Gumshoe; they hadn't really gotten to talk much at breakfast, and the incident the night before was first and foremost on his mind.
He grabbed his radio, then remembered what Dr. Landel had said about killing the man who had done the broadcast. Well. One more thing I can add to his long list of crimes the day I get him in my courtroom, he thought, dropping it into his coat pocket anyway. He took his flashlight, then stepped into the hallway.

Good riddance.
Adjusting the collar of his uniform, he left.

Sano didn't have to walk too far, and he knocked on Kenshin's door before walking in. Didn't look like Zuko was there yet, but that wasn't too surprising, especially if the kid had to come from the same place they did the night before.
"Hey Kenshin. Not too late, am I?" It hadn't been all that long since he'd seen Kenshin, but Sanosuke was still worried. Just what would they get into that might make the Battousai come out? Really, the fighter didn't want to see it, but he knew he had to be prepared in case it happened.
Man, that was something he didn't want to face.
Re: M55
Just last night, they had risked so much to take Adel to see him, and now he was gone.
To stab someone six times in the chest was even worse than the politically-motivated assassinations that Kenshin himself had committed in his youth. Any death was, of course, totally reprehensible, but to kill someone like that...well, it was cold-blooded murder.
Kenshin didn't have much more time to dwell on this turn of events, because within minutes, Sano was knocking at his door. The rurouni opened it, smiling.
"Not at all," he said. "Are we waiting for Zuko, or shall we leave now?"
Re: M55
Anything to stay normal and sane.
"Well, depends I guess." Sano let Kenshin go after a minute, then reached up to scratch the back of his head. "Is Okita's room far away? I kind of mentioned that Shaggy should meet us here, but if he's got to come from where we did last night, maybe it'd be quicker to see Okita first."
Re: M55
Re: M55
"Don't see him." The fighter leaned back against the doorway, then grinned to his friend. "Just make sure he can read the note. Your writing is terrible, Kenshin."
Re: M55
Zuko turned down the hallway and spotted Sanosuke in a doorway. The prince had mixed feelings about him, Zuko still wasn't too happy that the other man had given him a stupid nickname along with dragging him halfway across the building. But the firebender was willing to forget all that as long as he got a weapon out of it.
"Are we ready?" he asked once he was in front of the doorway.
Re: M55
"Hello there! Yes, we're ready." He grabbed the sheath he'd had made the night before and closed the door behind him.
"Shall we be off?"

Following the wall as usual, Sasuke headed out, moving as rapidly as he could.

Fate seemed to want him to head towards his heckler. He saw no reason not to, at least to start off with and slunk down the hall.

He put on the coat from the closet, grateful for the extra pockets it afforded. He then moved to his bed, pulling the pillowcase off his pillow and dropping a pair of syringes from the box he'd acquired last night inside. He carefully wrapped them up in the case, stuffing the bundle into one of the coat pockets when he'd finished.
Grabbing his flashlight and the bar Hattori had loaned him, he headed out of the room and into the hall, running quietly past the rows of doors.

Grabbing his flashlight, journal and pen, Jack sprang out the door the moment they unlocked, but quickly stopped as he realized just what the Intercom Man had said.
He killed someone? Frowning, Jack felt his enthusiasm for the man drop a bit. He had better have a good explanation for killing someone or Jack would have to give him a very stern talking to. Murder wasn't something he could approve of by any stretch of the imagination. Even Jack knew when to stop before scaring someone to death.
Scaring--oh, right! He was supposed to be meeting that Agent Mothman from the bulletin tonight! What had the guy said? Something about a McBathroom? No, wait - M-C Bathroom. Yes, that was it! The M-C block bathrooms!
That still didn't help.
"Well, time for an adventure then!" Jack waited for his eyes to adjust and then trotted down the hall in search for this mysterious M-C place.

The room at the end would suit his purposes...no need to make this complicated. Mello rested his hand on the knob as he listened for movement, but nothing stood out. A second later he pushed the door open and entered silently. It was impossible to manage this place without leaving fingerprints everywhere. He hated how many things he had to touch.
The room was empty. Good.
A hasty search resulted in a radio, but nothing else that might be useful. He didn't bother examining more closely. There'd be plenty of time to plunder later.
He left the door open and moved back to the main hallway. No reason to conceal his presence. Whoever lived there would probably notice the absence of the radio, but he imagined someone else would be blamed.

Eventually, the warrior found what he was looking for; the few reserve knives he had managed to steal from an autopsy room. They weren't anything comparable to the Crimson Scourge or even a normal katana, but at least they were sharp. He took only one, and hid the rest in his closet.
Night had fallen in the mean time, and as the doors unlocked, the Captain left his room. He still needed the raw materials for that alchemy stuff, which was exactly what he was going to look for tonight. Hopefully without any pathetic scum wasting his time.

At least Hiei didn't have to run down the hall. More importantly, he didn't run into the door either, which was very important. The last thing he needed was for Kurikara to be able to mock him about that. There was enough to worry about already.
Like catching his breath.
Hiei didn't bother to knock, since the god should have been expecting him. He also didn't bother to say hello. Hiei was too pissed for that. "My powers aren't working. I can't even open my Jagan!"
Not that Kurikara saw the value of having the Jagan open, with how he constantly told Hiei to close it at night. But for the demon, the total loss of the use of his third eye was the final insult to all the other misery he'd gone through in this place.
The problem with Hiei's furious rush, however, was that the demon had spoken before he realized the room was empty. His head still swimming, Hiei let out a sharp curse, turning quickly and running out of the door again.
This was bad. Hiei had read enough of the bulletin to know what a missing patient meant. And he knew that Kurikara wasn't so stupid as to leave without somehow letting Hiei know.
So the demon was going to find Kurikara, and punch him in the head for getting himself dragged away like that.

Flashlight in hand and skillet in the other, he headed down the hall.

But that only lasted until Xigbar was bored again. Which, for a person with no heart, was both impossible and exceedingly easy, again at the same time. So Xigbar shrugged, grabbed his trusty flashlight and pokeball, then strolled on out. He needed to
shootbludgeon something real good... now where could he find something like that?((Maybe... here!? (http://community.livejournal.com/damned/301301.html) ))
