Nightshift 30: M11-M20 Hallway
[Specifically M12]
"… Wait, really?" Axel asked, mainly to himself, as he listened to the intercom and the head doctor’s sudden confession. It hadn’t been long since he was escorted back to his room after his dinner, feeling rather content after spending a shift to himself. It was fun and all to chill with a couple of people beforehand, but a guy needed a break every once in a while.
His plans were relatively simple at the time. He was going to run off to Kairi’s room, swing her body over his shoulders and haul her back over to his own. He’d forgotten to write a note down for Roy in the bulletin saying he couldn’t make it, but he was sure the colonel could make the right assumptions.
He had been in the middle of rummaging under his mattress for his chakram when the intercom came to life again, and with that he couldn’t help but stop and look up at the ceiling with a mix of curiosity and disbelief. At this point it almost felt like a tradition for the man behind the radio to pop up every evening, so a change this big earned a bit of attention. Axel’s gaze remained on the ceiling for at least half a minute before he glanced over at his roommate on the other side.
"You know, I almost don’t believe it." But this was technically a battlefield, and one side had to give in one way or another. He had to remind himself that tradition didn’t exactly last forever.

Re: M13
"Hey, Kenren, maybe you could help me out," he said, going over to sit down on the bed. At the moment, he didn't really care that it was someone else's. They were probably gonna be moving around a lot more later, so he needed to rest. "I just got here today, and I was wondering...people mentioned monsters at night, but nothing about having to fight nurses. What's up with that as our instructions, then?"
Re: M13
Okita had just reached the area when he heard Kenren and Junior talking. Kenren rested easily against the door frame, but Junior's voice came from inside the room. Homura didn't appear to be present, but Okita smiled anyway. This group would be fun to play with tonight. Staying just out of sight, he eavesdropped on their conversation for a moment. Nurses? No wonder Homura had been secretive about their mission.
"Sorry to keep you waiting!" he called out, running up as if he hadn't just been listening in. Stepping up next to Kenren, Okita adjusted his Shinsengumi uniform jacket and bowed to both men. Smiling apologetically, he said, "A bit of a party came to my room and delayed me. Is there anything I missed?"
Re: M13
He grinned when Okita slipped in, moving to let him pass. "Yeah. Homura is crazy," he said. "He wants us to lure the nurses out from the nurse station, take 'em out and, I assume, ransack the place."
He looked back over at Junior. "Some of them have needles sticking out of their skin and some have giant syringes for arms."
Re: M13
The redhead stared at Okita for a moment when he got there. Where had he found that? It looked kinda like the outfit that Jin had worn when he and chaos had first met him. Had to have been something from home...and that was exactly why Junior was curious. God, he missed his jacket. His jacket and holster belt...and, well, anything that wasn't gray with a yellow smiley. "Hey, Okita. Where the hell did you get that outfit?"
Re: M13
When Junior asked him about his clothes, Okita smiled and turned a little so the boy could get a better look. "I have no idea. It's my uniform from home, but it was just sitting in my closet when I came back one day. Either it's a gift from a mysterious benefactor or a horrible trap." He laughed and tightened the tie around his ponytail. "I'm guessing it's a bit of both."
Now, however, it was time to get to business. Okita removed three scalpels from his waistband and offered them to Junior. "In case you need them. Having a few backups is never a bad idea." The closest nurse's station was probably best, one where they could lure the monsters out into a wider area, giving them better mobility and the chance to surround the staff. "We best get going. I'm betting our night is going to be a long one."
Re: M13
He turned and smirked at Okita, taking a closer look at the clothing that he now war. "I guess it depends who you're planning to trap with it," he said teasingly. It suited the other man, and he wasn't above appreciating an attractive guy when he got the chance.
He nodded at the other two, shifting into his soldier's mindset. "Let's head out then, if you're ready."
