Peony was glad that he'd finally been able to get something to work with that little beeping box. So the Nintendo GAME BOY TM was all right! He'd have to utilize it again another time, now that he'd finally gotten the hang of turning on Super Mario Land (and promptly dying thirty-two times in a row.) He had to tell other people about this miraculous piece of fontech he'd discovered!
The emperor felt surprisingly like Gailardia, getting so excited over a piece of fontech. But.. watching the little man hop down the holes in the ground was so fun! Even if after every couple of times the game insisted that it was, in fact, over.
At any rate, it was a worthy distraction from his hunger. He hadn't eaten today, after all! How did they get off doing something like this, not feeding their patients just 'cause they wanted to sleep a little late in the morning?! Maaaaaan.
There weren't many empty tables left by the time the nurse finally dragged him away from the Nintendo GAME BOY TM and led him down the dinner line. If there were any familiar faces here, Peony didn't feel like looking for any of them. He'd see them later, anyway. And then Jade would insist on clinging to him. In the phrasing of Anise Tatlin, boooooo.
So Peony plopped his tray down at the first table he saw with only one person at it, a knowing little smile crossing his features as he began to eat his food with an oddly intense refinement. His speech, however, was significantly less refined. "Hey, uhhh, you doin' okay?"
