Nightshift 29: East Wing, South Hall 2-B
[[From here]]
Miku kept her footsteps hushed as she followed the growing buzz in the back of her head. Here it was, just behind this door with it's rusted lock. Miku tried it, hoping that maybe her meager strength would help her, but to no avail. She kept one eye over her shoulder, her ears opened for the click of claws or worse.
Nothing, just the stupid sound of the lock not moving.
"Come on, come on, please...!" she whispered fiercely at it. "Please let me in..!"

Sousuke approached the unknown girl cautiously, not wanting to startle her. "Are you trying to open that?"
Miku nodded
with big moe eyes. Sousuke set his flashlight and wooden pole down and motioned for her to move. She complied quickly. The sergeant drew a breath and on the exhale, kicked the door close to the lock. The door swung open with a satisfying groan. Sousuke smiled to himself as he picked up his flashlight and pole again."You shouldn't be wandering around by yourself," The sergeant stated, "Even if you happen to be skilled in combat, it is dangerous to walk the halls alone." He looked at the door. "What business do you have in there?"

Still, he couldn't help but inquire. "And who are you, ma'am?"
no subject
"I know that the door was locked when you found me, but, if I told you how exactly I was following it, you wouldn't believe me, so..." She kept her voice quiet, so as to not disturb whatever might be listening in (though, in hindsight, the noise of the kicked-open door was probably more than enough). She took a step into the dark corridor.

Ururu could hear sounds coming from up ahead, the kind of sounds that weren't good. Voices that were too soft to be heard, except for the fear in them, and that was very scary.
"Are we almost there?" Ururu didn't like being almost there. It was better to be there, where she could see the enemy, and punch its lights out.

She nodded to Ururu and glanced back at Gin for a moment before continuing down the hall. She reached the doorway and found to her surprise that it was already open. The noises from inside weren't reassuring.
She turned back to her two companions. "There's something in there so we should be ready. I think there may be people in there already." She thought for a moment and then held out to Ururu the syringes of morphine that she'd acquired and had taken to carrying. "Here, take these. They might be of some use."

He wasn't thrilled about walking in on another enemy as they had last night. He was still recovering from that nasty poison. His fever had broken earlier, but he was nowhere near full strength, even for here. Their best bet was going to be a quick in and out.
Steeling himself, he followed the girls into the next room.

So far, so good. He could hear people talking, some screaming, shouting, but all of it was further away. Somewhere just out of sight. He swallowed his fear and kept moving, glancing down at his map every so often.
"We're just making a map," he explained, keeping his voice low. "So then... when everyone needs supplies or... or to make plans... then, they'll have it." To be completely honest, he wasn't sure on the specifics, but he knew the others had thought it important enough to assign it to him, so he hadn't asked a lot of questions.

Turning the corner, Logan almost immediately spotted a door. May as well try it, he thought. Nothing. It was locked tight. It looked fairly sturdy, as if even adamantium-laced limbs would struggle to force it open. He could try, but he got the instinctive feeling that he'd lose more skin than it was worth, and with his healing factor not being what it should be, it seemed folly to even try.
There was another door beside it; this one showed signs of forced entry, leading him to suspect others had come through here already, and may even still be in there. He motioned Parker over. "take a look at this, bub. Whatcha make o' it?"

The next door seemed to have some give to it, and Peter drew forward at that. Once he got close enough, at Logan's prompting, he tried it himself. It was locked, but he got the feeling that between the two of them, they could force it.
"It's worth a try," he said with a nod, stepping back. He wasn't sure how to go about it, though. Kicking it down seemed like the easiest option, but he wasn't really all that strong. Though with Logan's help...
"Let's just double team it, I guess," he finished, with some playful determination in his tone.

“Alright, on three.” He moved to one side of the door, crouching low to give the taller man access to the higher part of the door, and braced his shoulder, intending to lunge towards it on the count.
“One, two, THREE!” He flung himself forward, confident the Spider was doing the same.

With that done, Peter pulled away, hissing slightly. Hitting something that hard was bound to hurt, especially since his spider suit didn't offer much in the way of padding.
Still, the path was now open, which was all that mattered. If they had injured themselves only for it to stay locked, then he might have been a little more bothered by it.
"Ready?" he queried, waiting for Logan to recover so they could head inside.

Okita paused as they passed the doors leading to the "sleep study" rooms. It was strange to think that he'd been there just a few days before, looking for the man that was now just a meter or two behind him. Also following after was quite the group of assembled strangers - a detective, an acrobat and a demi-god.
He would have laughed at his situation if he had the time.
Instead, he pushed forward, keeping an even pace until he reached the door leading to the next hall. According to his map, this door should have been closed and yet...here it was - broken wide open. Either someone was still inside or someone had come and gone already. Either way, it warranted caution, so Okita slowed and kept a wary eye and a keen ear out for anything that might appear from the gloom.

"Yuber," Zelnick echoed. Not a name he'd heard before-- but then, he hadn't exactly grown up in a varied and multicultural environment. For all he knew, it was absolutely ordinary in... wherever Yuber was from. Remembering his manners (if only momentairly), Zelnick continued, "It's nice to meet you, and thank you for answering my questions."
As they headed down a hallway, Zelnick glanced at the doors ahead and to their left. "Where are we headed?"

Yuber paused in the hallway and glanced towards the two doors on his left. His gaze travelled down along the wall as he sensed the darkness that lay beyond. He frowned at the voices, but it wasn’t them that caught his attention. No it was the familiar presence of that woman he’d encountered previously. If he had been at full strength she would have posed as no threat, but with his powers limited as they were, he could do little more than retreat from that poor excuse of a spectre.
“Not down there,” He murmured before ignoring the two doors all together. Heading further down the hall, Yuber’s movements were silent as he slipped into the next hall.

The hallway was empty when they re-entered, and without a second through, Yuber sauntered his way down before disappearing into the next corridor.

Sousuke stumbled out of the room, carrying Miku in his arms. The screaming was still there, and it was hard to see straight. He had to get to safety though, he had to get to a room he could barricade the group in before that ghost-woman followed and finished what she started.

"Just try not to do anything that will draw too much attention to us, and as long as no one realizes what you're doing, I'll be fine with it," Wesker said calmly, he wasn't particularly interested in Birkin's mind games so long as they didn't interfere with his own plans.
"But I do not want you to create any problems for me."

"Not even he realizes what is going on, I doubt you will have any problems."

Logan held the door open for the kid, giving him a quick glance to make sure he wasn't on the verge of collapse, then turned his attention to the hallway, alert for any possible dangers.

It wasn't like they hadn't found someone to help, after all. Peter kept his head lowered, eyes on the boy. He was definitely curious as to what he had been through, but hammering him with questions wasn't going to help anything.
"Where are we taking him?" he called out to Logan. "Just back to one of the rooms?" Though it should probably be up to the kid himself, so he directed his attention to him again: "Anywhere in particular you want to go to rest?"

"I want to be destroyed," He mumbled in his native tongue (not really aware that he was slipping out of the 'common' language) and felt somewhat nostalgic. He'd done this before, hadn't he? "I want to be destroyed..."
Did he actually want to be destroyed? Probably not, as per usual. However, with the way he felt, he wondered if the death his mother had so lovingly dispatched before wouldn't be a more welcomed state. At least Mother was an omnipotent, all mighty, heavenly force higher on the totem pole of power than he was; the doctor who had done these...things to him was pathetically human. Perhaps he really deserved to be removed from existence if he fell victim to such a being...

"Don' think it matters too much bub, but I think I remember someone tellin' me 'bout a sorta...field hospital some o' tha other patien's've set up in a room in tha first Male block, M35 I think." True, anyone there with medical abilities or healing powers might not be able to help someone whose injuries weren't physical, but it was a lot closer than their own room, and he'd feel much better about leaving him with someone rather than just dumping him somewhere random.
Logan frowned as he listened to the boy's forlorn mumblings. He knew a lot of languages, several of them fluently, but that hadn't sounded like anything he'd ever heard before. Whatever it was though, the tone spoke of a desperate kid on the verge of mental collapse. He wished he could do more to help, but knew he'd likely have little success. He could think of nothing else to do but utter a few sparse words of encouragement. "Hang in there kid, not long now, gonna get ya someplace safe real soon." At the t-junction of the hallway's end, he held up a hand, motioning the others to stay put, whilst he scooted to the corner nearest the direction of the stairwell and crouched against the wall, scanning up and down the hallway. He motioned again, forward this time, and stepped around the corner.

The vampire had no interest from attempting to interfere with whatever “experimentation” was taking place in the M-U hallway, not this night. It had nothing to do with his missing cousin, who had disappeared before the night--Akatsuki wasn’t part of that perverse game, and so Aidou kept moving.
It seemed the Arts and Crafts gang’s map was still remarkably incomplete, as there was nothing but a large blank for most of the upper hallway. Considering what took place only a corridor down, the noble was dead set on mapping the unknown areas for hope of a clue. Making their way up, the final room would be the morgue.
Aidou hated that his initial suspicions had to fall on the worst possible scenario, but he could do no less than assume the worst.

Rena once again took charge, leading the group of four away from the halls and the mess within. Although now, their haste was for slightly different reasons.
Without missing a step, she brought them to the other hall and toward the nearest stairs.

Claude shined his flashlight onto the door as they approached it. "The experimentation hallway is just through there." Eyebrows raising, he tried the handle. "Looks like our lucky day -- someone's already broken inside." It'd save them time, and they'd avoid repeating that nasty mess with him, Luke and Asch a couple of nights ago.
He opened it and peeked inside. "Looks like there's something going down in there. Let's be on our guard, and focus on making sure Luke is okay." He was mostly saying that for his own benefit, though, given his talent for throwing himself into a fight.

While he normally would have wanted to get a better idea of what they were in for before just heading inside, he knew they didn't have that luxury right now. Time was of the essence. He wasn't entirely sure how it all worked, so he thought it might be better if Claude continued to take the lead. On the other hand, that might seem like he was pushing him out into possible danger.
"Want me to go first?" he asked, drawing up next to Claude. Asch might always want to vie for that position, though Guy wasn't sure he wanted to waste time arguing over it.
no subject
If Guy, or Claude depending on how the other blond replied, wanted to head in first, Asch wasn't going to argue for once. If something was going on further down the hall, he had no problems with letting either of them be the first to find out.
After all, there was no telling what exactly was down there. He wasn't looking forward to getting himself killed tonight, even if he had decided to go with them.
no subject
Still, Claude was the only one out of their group who'd been down this hallway before. Not to mention he didn't really feel right sending someone ahead of him just because there was danger up ahead. And it wasn't like the hallway was terribly narrow to begin with, at any rate.
Claude appreciated the offer, but he shook his head.
"No, I don't think that's necessary," he replied. "I was just giving everyone proper warning before we went inside. Let's go."
The blond completely pushed the door open and led the way into the hall.

Her neck hurt, but she knew Allen would be in worse condition if she didn't hurry. Who knew what that thing that was once her brother might do?
