M-A Block Hallway
[Coming from here.]
Daemon paid little attention to any of the doors he passed, taking no time to watch where he was going or check if there was anyone or anything in his way. His attention was completely focused on that one distant pulse, which was growing ever closer. He could feel her, she wasn't far away. After all this time.
It was all he could do not to just spend his magic and take down the walls that separated him from her in order to be there more quickly.

Though how was this Adelheid making the blades? Hattori's offer of the "material" suggested that he was forging them. Two in a night, from the sort of iron one found in pipes... His crude club might be as useful as a blade so hastily fashioned. Against a monster, the last thing he wanted was a weapon that would shatter in his hand.
Which this one might yet do. He glanced to Homura as Souji left the room.
"I'll take the rear guard." It was a necessary position, with their injured members to the center, and more importantly he was not inclined to take this arrogant stranger's orders. Not directly.
He followed Souji into the hall without waiting for a response, watching the familiar blue and white mountain pattern recede into the gloom as Souji took up his scouting position. For his part, he lingered by the door, waiting for the other three to emerge.

At least Kaito was around to appreciate his humor, and keep him in check. He'd have to thank the guy for watching his back later--when it would be less embarrassing. Kuroba was doing pretty well though, for being thrown into a situation like this. Maybe he should've thought this through a bit more.
That subject was moved to the back burner at the mention of a weapon.
"Ah, thanks Kaa-san," Heiji said with a grin. A sword would work far better against a monster than, for example, a wooden dowel or jacket. "I'll leave it to you, then."
Heiji walked out of the room, clicking on his flashlight and pointing it at the ground. He felt safer surrounded by Hijikata, Kaito, and Okita. He wasn't really sure how he felt about Homura, but if the man didn't want his torchbearer snapped up in three bites, he'd be part of the team too.
He looked over his shoulder at the larger shinsengumi, "Y'gonna be able to see okay, Hijikata-han?"

He'd look into it later. Right now, Homura's attitude was starting to rub him the wrong way. What did he mean by that 'god' comment, anyway? Did he think of himself as some sort of deity? Ha!
Regardless, Kaito kept his mouth shut and played along, moving back into the hall. He turned on his flashlight and, like Hattori, pointed it towards the floor. He fell into place near the detective, glancing back at Hijikata when Hattori spoke to the man.

His current problem was with the attitudes that seemed to be coming from the puppies. The demi-god had no way of knowing what Okita had told them, but he had hoped they'd be a bit more informed. But they could have their doubts now. Homura knew well enough that they would likely not linger for long.
Homura kept closer to Okita, though didn't keep his voice down. No, it was better that Hijikata overhear, and be informed of one of the more important things he'd likely forgotten. "I'm certain you mentioned Himura's involvement in your war." He gave a slight smirk to Okita, but didn't lower his guard. Despite talking, Homura was still a trained and experience fighter. "Did you tell him about our agreement?"

Irony was such a bitter taste.
"Oh~ I totally forgot about that~" Okita said, tilting his head to the side in a mockery of innocence. Homura knew the truth anyway. He wouldn't have brought the topic up if he hadn't thought Okita had skimmed over that little detail. "No weapons for us if we go off and kill the Choushu rebel, wasn't it? Something like that. Himura-san refuses to fight us anyway, so there's no sport in it."
He gave Homura a warning glance not to say why Himura wouldn't fight anymore. He wanted to be the one to tell Hijikata about the end of the war. It was his right and his duty, and anyone who broke it to Hijikata otherwise would find themselves on Okita's bad side. Not many people lived long over there.
He noticed the looks Heiji and Kaitou were giving each other about Homura and smiled. They'd learn once things heated up - literally. He didn't wait for an answer before he slipped into the next hallway.
