M-A Block Hallway

[Coming from here.]

Daemon paid little attention to any of the doors he passed, taking no time to watch where he was going or check if there was anyone or anything in his way. His attention was completely focused on that one distant pulse, which was growing ever closer. He could feel her, she wasn't far away. After all this time.

It was all he could do not to just spend his magic and take down the walls that separated him from her in order to be there more quickly.

[Racing here.]

Hikaru wasn't wasting any time getting to Tamaki's room. Both he and Kaoru had been attacked in these halls, and he didn't want to risk it.

"Almost there..."

Momo's destination lay in the Clinic. She wouldn't be able to do much other than one major healing if it was absolutely necessary, but she couldn't sit alone in her room or be a burden to her friends.

Yes, the Clinic was the best choice.

Just one hallway to go. Kenshin had made this trek several times in the last few nights, and it was becoming easier with every trip. Soon, he'd be able to get to M13 in his sleep.

Not that he'd want to, of course.

"It's just around the corner..."

Still nothing interesting. Not even one monster, and why was that, anyway? Kadaj had a few reasons to be thankful for this, of course, but aside from that black-robed thing and those two ghostly women, there was nothing the institute could throw at him that he'd be wouldn't be happy to see at the moment. Even that blond bastard would have been welcome... almost.

Snorting softly in disgust, he started walking faster. Where were they all?

Why was this particular hallway so crowded at night? Edgeworth knew the answer to the question, but it was no less annoying to move through the crowded hallway. At least there weren't any creatures waiting that he could see. He paused before turning the corner, taking a brief minute to check his map - while he knew the first floor fairly well, it was best not to take any chances.

Mr. Edgeworth was so organised!

"Did you draw that yourself, sir?" Gumshoe queried, sights looming from above the younger man. "I should make copies!" ... When I get back to the precinct! He silently affixed.

Ah, he recognised this area without the lighting. He'd stopped by the Clinic room last night, shifted into one of those corridors with the kids. It was really strange, but having navigated his way through pitch darkness seemed to have aided his memory better than if he'd walked in illuminated surroundings...

"I think it's here," he said quietly, growing conscious of the risks to be had if he continued to speak in a raised voice. Moving quickly towards the exit, he opened the door for Mr. Edgeworth. "Also, some guys've set up a kind of refuge in a room down there." He pointed a finger in the direction of M35. "Th- Things got crazy yesterday. Found a boy with b- broken ribs, I think, and h- he told me about this place that could help him. We, um, we took him there, and..." He trailed off, blanching all of a sudden. It was like an invisible healing cloud had swept over the teenager... like some spiritual power or another had been utilised to wipe away the wounds.

[identity profile] high-prosecutor.livejournal.com 2008-01-31 06:53 pm (UTC)(link)
"I had a bit of help putting it together, and it's not entirely complete, but you're welcome to make a copy of it, Detective," the prosecutor said, carefully looking through the doorway before stepping across it.

I'm glad someone set up a first-aid station. It's well past time for that kind of thing, he thought as he took in Gumshoe's statement. "M35, is it? I'll keep that in mind..." He abruptly stopped speaking once he noticed the pallor on the older man's face.

"Are you feeling ill, Detective? You look like you've seen a ghost - not that those exist, of course. It would be foolish to think that." The voice left over from the experimentation a few nights ago mumbled loudly in the back of his head, as if to protest that statement. Edgeworth ignored it; acknowledging it, and the fear that came with it, would only make it louder.

In truth, Rukia didn't do much good carrying Falis; poor Sora was left to bear most of the injured woman's weight. She did, however, hold her flashlight up to light the way. At least M35 wasn't far...

[personal profile] lighthearted 2008-02-06 01:46 am (UTC)(link)
While Sora didn't approve of Rukia helping at all, what little strength she added did help. It was awkward, especially since he was carrying most of the stranger in his arms while Rukia held her legs, and he was staggering under the weight, but they didn't have too much farther to go, and Rukia was doing a fairly good job with lighting the way.

He had to make sure to avoid the patient's long, blood-stained her, which managed to almost reach the floor. Tripping would be painful for all three of them, and he was unbalanced enough that it might just happen if he wasn't careful.

"I hope there's someone there who can help her," he said, his voice strained as he took slow, cautious steps.

[identity profile] haiiro-no-chou.livejournal.com 2008-02-06 05:15 am (UTC)(link)
"Yeah," Rukia agreed, though Sora's voice sounded far away. Was her flashlight going out? No, no, she just felt very dizzy...

"Wait," she mumbled, "Gotta... rest." She hated herself for being so weak, but she set down the young woman's legs, and sank to the floor. She felt like she was going to pass out, but she couldn't let herself! Hunching over, head down as close to the filthy ground as she could get it, Rukia jabbed her thumb into one of the bandaged burns on her thigh.

She gasped quietly, but the pain helped her stay conscious. After a few slow, deep breaths, she was able to get back up again. "Sorry," she muttered, taking hold of the young woman's legs again.

Peter wasn't sure that Logan carrying the kid would expedite the process at this point, since they were getting pretty close by now. He wasn't sure if they would have much time to accomplish anything after they dropped the kid off, but at least they would have gotten something done.

He wasn't sure how packed the clinic would be. With everyone that was getting hurt, he imagined there would be a fair amount of people there, which could make for some awkwardness if he entered the room with his full spider suit on. Then again, he was used to the strange looks he got already - he wouldn't mind so long as he wasn't mistaken for some kind of monster.

It was hard enough being thought of as a menace by half of the city he was trying to protect.

[identity profile] hellmunchkin.livejournal.com 2008-02-06 04:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Phibrizzo glanced at Logan with hollow eyes. If the man really wanted to carry him, he wouldn't be the one to stop him. Then again, it might be a welcome relief to the dizziness; perhaps having someone carrying him along would allow him to clear his head.

Still, he'd shambled along behind to two taller figures until one of them grabbed him up.

[identity profile] ol-canucklehead.livejournal.com 2008-02-07 12:47 am (UTC)(link)
The look the kid gave him seemed so forlorn that Logan didn't think the kid would care either way. Still, Logan had hardly expended energy at all this night, and for once he'd managed to remain uninjured, so far at least. So he decided he would carry the kid, if only to make himself feel useful, and to spare the kid from collapsing should his shaky legs give out on him.

Wrapping one arm around the boy's small waist, he lifted him onto his left shoulder with ease, leaving his right arm ready to swing the knife if required. "We gotta be pretty close by now, righ'?" This was directed at the mutant in the red-and-blue get-up just ahead of him.

She could barely see, but there was enough light from a few other flashlights that showed her that she was headed towards the correct direction. At least this way she would be able to lead the injured to the clinic before passing out herself.

Stopping, Kairi turned back and looked towards Artemis, waiting for him to catch up before she continued on in silence.

[identity profile] byname-bynature.livejournal.com 2008-02-07 03:45 am (UTC)(link)
Artemis tried to smile as best he could, but it looked more like a strange sort of grimace. Not only was he still in intense physical pain (he could almost feel the magic doing a thorough scrubbing of his circulatory system), Artemis was yet again dealing with his inability to perform correctly. Everyone else had killed a nurse... except him. He'd taken every syringe thrown at him, a slash to the shoulder, and a hand raked across his face.

He frowned and played with the holes in his suit. They were stained with blood. He really needed a shoulder-guard after tonight, the thought.

For a successful battle, Artemis himself thought he was being uncharacteristically quiet. Perhaps he just didn't feel like talking...

[identity profile] whiteychan.livejournal.com 2008-02-07 05:06 am (UTC)(link)
Hitsugaya might have noticed Artemis' quiet and sullen demeanor, had he not been busy focusing on not passing out from the pain. While Omi was right and he had been able to rest most of his weight on the boy, he hadn't received healing and even with the support found finding the will to put one foot in front of the other incredibly difficult.

He'd make a point to congratulate everyone on a job well done, as soon as the pain stopped.

The only people Cid could see in the hallway on the south end of the patient block were a couple of guys glaring beat-your-ass at each other, both of whom looked vaguely familiar. Even so, the pilot walked past and tried not to draw attention to himself; as much as he liked a good fight, he had enough problems on his hands right now without dealing with a broken nose.

Rukia kept to the wall in case she stumbled. What she really wanted to do was go outside, but she knew that wouldn't be wise. There might be more of those flying creatures, or worse, mimics.

Instead she continued the way she had planned.
