Night 29: M61-M70 Hall
Naoya was quick to gather his supplies as the voice on the intercom spoke, both calming and reassuring--but frightening all the same. After making sure he had everything he needed (which turned out to only be a flashlight), Naoya then quickly slipped into the hall and shined his light in both directions. Just to make sure nothing was there, he didn't want to take any chances tonight.
He needed to find his brother. He hadn't said a thing all day and Naoya was beyond worrying, he had heard the stories of people disappearing and-

He had to find his brother. Determined, Naoya hurried into the next hall.
[To here.]

Outside M64
He found that he was the first one in the hallway, aside from his roommate SubZero stalked over to HK's door and knocked on it to get the assassin machine to hurry up.

Re: Outside M64
HK was probably unhappy with him again, though SubZero wasn't entirely sure why, it wasn't like he had done anything to make him upset. Not recently, anyway.
Re: Outside M64
But he certainly wasn't going to tell the meatbag he was sorry for being irritable.

Outside M63
Grabbing the makeshift bag and the two pillowcases he'd received, he slipped the scalpels from their hiding place and his sword from under the bed. He didn't mind if Guy knew where he stashed his gear. It was strange, but he had learned to trust his roommate far faster than anyone else here. There were things he was hiding, but so was Okita - and their mutual decision to leave well enough alone was a breath of fresh air.
Wishing Guy good luck for the evening with his plans, he stepped out into the hallway and waited for Heiji and his mysterious tagalong to appear.
Re: Outside M63
It had not been locked, though. He wondered uneasily if they expected him to leave, and what might be waiting outside--
As he looked down the hallway, the flutter of a familiar white mountain pattern on blue caught and held his eye. Shinsengumi? Here?
Starting towards the familiarly dressed figure, he called out in a gruff voice, "What's going on?"
Re: Outside M63
Okita froze when he heard an impossibly familiar voice call out from the dark and he snapped around, flicking his flashlight on. The beam landed on a gray uniform, a tall form, and the face of someone who shouldn't have been in these halls.
"...Hiji...kata...san...?" It wasn't possible. Seeing him standing there with a broken wooden pole, acting as if nothing were the matter except that he was in a foreign place. Okita felt his heart stop, then begin to race as he took a step back. He'd heard rumors of creatures that took the appearance of friends and loved ones. While he didn't want to jump to conclusions, Hijikata had been gone and there was no reason for him to return. The flashlight lowered and Okita put a wary hand to the hilt of his sword. "Where have you been?"
Re: Outside M63
Lowering his hand, and blinking against the dazzle of afterimages that had replaced any useful vision, Hijikata shook his head. "I woke up in a room in that direction." He gestured down the hall, towards the door he'd come from. It grated, but he added, "I don't know what happened before that."
The purple and green flashes across his vision began to fade, and Hijikata squinted at Souji, registering the wary pose. He felt a lurch of sick surprise. Suspicious? Of him? He wondered for a mad moment if this was some impostor, or if the clothes were so odd he'd become unrecognizable himself. "What are you doing here, Souji? What is this place?"

For some reason, the conversation felt private, and so he made sure to move down the hall to give them their space. It seemed like the sort of thing Okita would have appreciated.
All he had to do was wait now. Peony would probably be out of his room soon, and they could confer until Claude and Luke showed up. Guy just hoped that Luke would be able to find his way. He had made it to Anise's room before all of them, though, so maybe he wasn't giving him enough credit.
With a sigh, he leaned against the wall, setting his bat down so that he could cross his arms over his chest.

Oh.. if anything, this experience was making him that much more sympathetic with the commoners of Malkuth. Yes! This was his plight! This was a lesson.
So he had jumped up the moment the lights flicked off, grabbed the shine-tube and the meat cleaver (which was courtesy of Jade and his contamination effect - he was useful sometimes) and traipsed out the door with only a quick "Bye!" to his roommate.
"Gai~lar~di~a~," he nearly sang as he made it outside, happy to see the fresh-faced Malkuth noble for the first time today. "How's it going? It's been so long, hasn't it?"

Then again, it wasn't like his staying positive was a bad thing. It wasn't something most people could pull off. Guy figured he was doing all right on that front.
"I guess it has, huh," he said with a quick smile as he pushed off of the wall and turned to face the other man more directly. They had spoken over the bulletin board earlier in the day, but that was hardly the same. "I've been all right -- had a pretty good day. How about you?"

There were others in the hall, so he didn't stick around long. He didn't want to risk anyone trying to get their hands on his smokes. There weren't enough to go around. Thankfully, the room Zoro had mentioned on the bulletin board was in the hall right next to his own.
M67
It took longer than he would have expected; normally just a simple spell he could weave between his hands and be done with it in time to enjoy his dinner and then some. But he had been forced to resort to such simple ways that wording a spell like this caused him some trouble.
The lights went off, announcements were transmitted, doors unlocked. He calmly left his work until he could find his flashlight and continued to pop a forkful of food into his mouth every now and then while tracing the pattern in one of his fudas with some dried flakes of blood he had piled on a sheet of white paper beside his plate. He'd still be on it for a while, rhythmic chanting occasionally breaking the steady, if a slow flow of food into his mouth.

Kimbley stretched and seized his flashlight, which had been taking some serious damage over the last few days, and a handful of pens and torn-out sheets of notebook paper. Then he slipped out into the hallway and made his way as silently as possible toward the exits - the last time he'd set foot out the door, he'd gotten himself beaten up. Twice, actually.
He'd be faster tonight.

Until then, though, he had other things to do. Leaving his flashlight off for now, he headed down the hall as quietly as he could. The fact that he was alone for the night limited the number of things he could do, but there were still several things he could think of off the top of his head to try.

M61
Naminé rounded the corner, and she looked to the room numbers on the door. She was in the right place, according to the map that she had drawn for him what seemed like ages ago. And eventually, she and Roland ended up in front of his door. M61.
She almost didn't want to open the door, but she knew she had to. It was better to know if Soma was no longer in Landels then to constantly wonder and worry. She twisted the handle and let the door swing open, poking her head into the dark, empty room.
"Soma...?"
Re: M61
For now, the man remained silent, letting Namine do as she pleased for the moment. Once the truth came crashing through, then it would be a question of what to do from there.
Re: M61
Tomorrow. She'd ask this man tomorrow.
"He's not here," She announced, knowing it was obvious and closing the door behind her as she stepped back out into the hall. It took awhile for the words to sink in.
This was the third time.
"I guess... I guess it can't be helped," Naminé mumbled quietly, trying to keep herself composed.

On one hand, wandering the halls at night was exceedingly dangerous, and the only real safe place to stay would be his own room, as Daemon had helpfully informed him the previous night. On the other hand, staying in one place and doing what the nurses told him wouldn't get him any closer to escaping, and ZEX did want to escape.
He didn't have much choice, but he vowed to be as careful as he could possibly be. Venturing too far would leave him vulnerable, and if he was lucky he'd find some others to travel with... if he could find some hint, some information on even where or when he was, that would help him immeasurably. Even how they managed to change him from one body to another, that would have been fine...
Carefully, ZEX made his way out into the hallway, checking each direction periodically to make sure no creatures were coming after him. There was no harm in taking things slowly for now... as he got more accustomed to his human body, perhaps more able to defend himself, he'd be less cautious, but for now...
Slow and steady.

Siegfried passed the others in the hallway, and continued on to the exit of the block.

Finally.
It seemed to take forever before he could continue on his way, but at least that was over with. Asch wasn't entirely sure what to expect when it came to meeting with Guy and Claude, although he doubted it would take that much time.
After all, this was nothing more than a 'let's see who is and isn't here' type of thing, right? Once he met with the two blond's, he could vouch for Tear and Anise since he had seen the two girls, and then he'd be free to continue elsewhere by himself. Hopefully there'd still be time to accomplish something before nights end.

It occured to him that they could've been waiting inside the appointed room in order to remain safe from any possible attacks in the hallway, so he continued on. Upon reaching the room, however, he quickly discovered a piece of paper left in the door. Tucking his journal and the knife under one arm, the redhead grabbed the paper in one hand, using the other to hold the light so he could read it.
...and he promptly read it over a second time.
The replica had possibly been taken for experiments.
Asch crumpled the note in his fist and let it fall to the ground before he turned and headed back in the direction he had come.
