Day 29: Sun Room
It was with some relief that Yuuhi awoke the next morning, in his own bed, sore and tired and achy. He would've slept more had they let him, his face down in the pillow, away from all the others and their questions and their concern. He didn't want to see them, but he managed a little smile when the nurse came in and didn't object when she lead him out into the open hallway that had been splattered with blood, plenty of it his, just last night.
The Chapel or the Sun Room? He felt he had good reason not to be terribly religious and had a feeling he wouldn't be very welcome there anyway. The Sun Room would be nice though. It was bright and cheery and he could always doodle or write notes on the community board if he'd nothing better to do. Besides, the nurse was kind enough to let him take a book with him.
He found a seat on one of the couches, far from the entrance and seated himself in the far corner, legs scrunched up against his chest so he only took up one of the cushions. He opened up where he'd left off, fingers carefully turning the worn pages of Dorothy and the Wizard in Oz.

“Give me more credit you dusty old rust bucket. It is unfortunate that I’m in the exact situation as you are.” Yuber muttered as he tilted his head back and brushed the blonde bangs away from his eyes. Laying his arms down across the top of the couch there was a definite air of ease around the knight as he chuckled softly. “Quite the situation we’ve found ourselves in hmm? Although seeing you in such a state has made the inconveniences this place has put my part almost worth while.”

“Knowing your treacherous ways you’ve already sunk your claws into the more unsavoury flesh bags within this institution.” Despite how much he despised the thought, the sword wasn’t entirely vain enough to realise that he was in need of aid. Those he’d come across so far either didn’t hold the power or cunning, or didn’t understand the gravity of this situation and the effects his absence would have in Suikoden. “However, you know as well as I do that we can not remain outside of our realm for long.”

“I’ve actually come to enjoy my stay here. There’s enough of a chaotic influence to make my workings far easier.” Yuber admitted easily. This building was very much his pickings, and with everything that went on within these walls, the knight could easily investigate things without drawing too much attention to himself. “Besides, my absence back in our realm is surely to bring about immense disorder with the unbalance… although I suppose with you here that counter-balances that little ploy.”

He’d known Yuber for far too long not to underestimate some of the thoughts behind this particular rock’s motives. Like all of the chaotic Runes they were not to be underestimated, and while most of them had very clear cut purposes within the world, the rune housed within Yuber’s shell was highly unpredictable at the best of times. With each encounter he’d experienced with the Eightfold fool, the Night Rune had easily noticed its tendency for making a quick escape. “The only reason you’d ever want to remain here would be to hide away from your shadow of death."
