Nightshift 28: West Wing - Hall A
[From here.]
Walking up to the first door, his short arm reached out as he opened it. Peering into the room, his amber gaze ran over the area once before finding nothing of value. Snorting softly in annoyance, the Star Dragon Sword reclosed the door before heading further down the hallway.
“This better not be a waste of time.” He unhappily grumbled while looking back over his shoulder at his companion.

With that, Scar moved over to the next, somewhat clumsily grabbing the door handle as he turned it. But no matter what, the door refused to budge.
"Odd, this one appears to be stuck." he said with a frown. As doors were a strange thing to him, it simply hadn't occurred that some of these couldn't be opened. Another fruitless turn of the door handle, but the door didn't move no matter how hard the lion pushed or pulled. After glaring at the troublesome obstacle, he glanced at his ever-so-kind traveling companion.
"I suppose this means we will have to try the next." he concluded dryly.

“If it’s stuck then there’s a high chance that the door is simply locked. Humans often lock the doors to keep items beyond them safe from others.” The sword murmured as he examined his own door. If logic served him correctly, things hidden behind locked doors should hold some values. It seemed to be old and rusted compared to the previous one – which was odd considering that the others were almost like new. Did this mean that whoever built this building wanted others to enter into such rooms? If not then they’d put far stronger locks on their doors.
Testing the door, he found that his suspicions had been correct as it creaked but otherwise remained unmoving. “This one appears to be locked as well, but if we found something dense enough there’s a possibility that it could be broken.” Now if only he was in his original body, then he’d have no problems getting past this lock.
“You haven’t got anything of use on you?” He was already expecting the negative answer as he glanced over towards his travelling companion.

But with a distinct lack of volunteers or any other appropriate persons, they would have to find another way of opening this door. Perhaps they could use brute force? Since using his own body for breaking down this little obstacle was definitely out of the question, perhaps his dear friend would have to serve as the wanted dense object.
"No, not quite." Scar answered honestly, his tone thoughtful. "Without any particular helpful objects, it would seem there is no other choice but to break this door open by brute force."
A small pause.
"I'm afraid I am not a pillar of strength, however." He offered the Star Dragon Sword a questionable glance.

There was an oddly calm and even tone in his voice as the Night Rune incarnation spoke those words. Yet as the short body bag turned to properly face his travelling companion, his entire demeanour morphed into outrage as he bellowed loudly. “Do you have any idea of who you speak with?”
Despite his size, the once sword managed to make himself look as intimidated as possible while he glowered up at Scar. “I am the Great Star Dragon Sword! And only I am worthy enough to decide who shall wield my power in such a way. You are all my servant!”

The former lion remained silent during the Star Dragon Sword's rant, trying to keep his composure. Thankfully, the outbursts he had endured from his charming brother regarding his behavior had been a good practice.
There was a moment of silence after the smaller man had finished, in which Scar carefully picked his words. Perhaps he needed a different approach...
"Well..." Scar began hesitantly. "I would attempt it, but I am afraid my back isn't what it's supposed to be, and..." Another small pause, trying to look as uncomfortable as possible.
Wait...
He paused, looking down to his feet. Or rather, the things put around them. It's bottom was more solid than anything they carried on this moment. He briefly glanced at the other man's feet, but concluded they were rather...small. It seemed the only option was using his. Well, he could live without them. He had done so for years. With that, he began removing it.
"You said we needed a blunt object, correct?" Scar said after he was done removing the item from his foot and holding it out. "Instead of wasting time arguing who should smash himself against this irritating object, why not use this instead? The bottom appears to be solid."
Thanks to his brilliant plan, it would seem his traveling companion's dignity would be spared for another night.

“Very well, but if this idea doesn’t work – I’ll be using your head as an object to pound against it.” Unfortunately the threat was an empty one considering their size difference, but it was enough to inform the other to mind their tone. He wouldn’t allow them to simply run all over him.
Taking off one of his shoes, the sword gave it an odd look as he tested it against the palm of his hand. “Move aside.” Satisfied that it would do at least a decent job, he pushed his travelling companion out of the way as he moved himself in front of the lock. He brought the shoe down once onto the rusted lock, and found that there was a large possibility that he’d be able to break it with some effort. Continuing the onslaught for a few more rounds, the rusted metal finally gave way and fell to the ground with a loud clank before the sword reapplied the shoe to his foot and he glanced back over his shoulder to Scar.
“After you.” The Star Dragon Sword firmly stated. He wasn’t about to do all the work for this bag of flesh.

He noted with curiosity when the Star Dragon Sword removed one of his own shoes to pound against the door. He couldn't help but wonder; what in the world was wrong with his? Perhaps large sizes were too intimidating for his companion. Regardless, he decided to put the troublesome object back on his feet. While the King struggled with his shoe, the sword had managed to open the door.
In the end, the former lion had still gotten his companion to open the door for him. Scar resisted the urge to smirk at this small accomplishment.
