Day 28: Bus 1
Zelgadis was not happy, at all. Not that this was any change, but the events of the past few hours had given him more to angst about than usual. Nightshift had been dreadful: first he was attacked by a small green man and then covered in leeches, neither of which lead to warm fuzzy feelings.
And now this.
When the nurse had come into his room with new clothes he had a small glimmer of hope-- some thief had taken his normal Landel's wear in the night, so perhaps this was a change in luck. However, it was not the godsend he had hoped for. Minus the threat of sedation, there was nothing in the universe that could make Zelgadis wear a bright lemon-yellow shirt. There was a jacket of a slightly more tasteful variety, so Zelgadis made good us of it-- he put all his coupons in a pocket and pulled up the hood. It was almost as good as his cloak. Well, no it wasn't, but it would have to do.
With mild protesting, Zelgadis was lead to a large yellow vehicle. He climbed the stairs, took a seat towards the back, and readied himself for another frustrating day of being attacked and threatened with spoons.

And perhaps so could Kenshin. Homura hadn't forgotten that momentary change he'd seen in the man, so quick it was questionable if the others had seen it. "Last night, when we fought the creatures. For just a moment, you had a different look in your eyes."
Before he could speak further, however, the buses lurched forward, the vehicles starting to move. Homura was shocked for a moment, but then he grinned. So this was what it was like; he'd seen iron vehicles before, as Sanzo's party had one. But this was his first time riding in one.
It was a strange sensation. On the whole, Homura liked teleportation better, if only for that it was much, much faster.

"This one--oro~?!"
Kenshin completely forgot what he was supposed to be talking about as the buses shuddered to life and started to move. He'd never seen anything like it before! They were like train cars, but...where was the engine? Where were the tracks?!
"Oroo..."

"Iron vehicles are beyond your time, I take it?" He'd noticed certain hesitations before, particularly when it came to the bathrooms. "They're used by mortals for transportations. Some of the humans from my world had one, though it was smaller and didn't have a roof."
Homura thought about it for a moment, unable to help a grin as he added. "And it turned into a dragon one of them kept as a pet."
How many oro's would that earn him?

Shishio Makoto? No problem. The Bakumatsu? Piece of cake. Public transit? Now that was something else entirely.
"No, these are apparently quite far off in this one's future," Kenshin laughed. "They resemble trains most closely...but...where's the engine? Where are the tracks?"
Homura's comment about dragons earned him a raised eyebrow. "Oro? You come from quite an interesting place, Homura." Gods and dragons, huh?
