Room M 26
Before he knew it, Fayt was being drawn backwards. He'd wanted to fight against it, even had a little at first, but the few struggles he made turned out to be ineffective. It wasn't too surprising since he didn't have the raw strength Cliff did, but it was a little.. frustrating? He'd meant to throw himself and Nowe into a nearby room (Had he given it more thought he could have gone into his own room since it was pretty much right beside them), but first he wanted to move a little ways up the hall. Not much, but at least enough to give them slightly more time to rush.
He was still contemplating as Nowe moved, grabbing him and nearly tossing him against the door. By this time he'd ceased his movements, going onto 'auto' and following the leads Nowe presented. He wished there were more he could do right now, like perhaps open the door while Nowe was busy, but he didn't manage to do it before the other boy. Strange how he'd become a spectator in his own life. Being at someone else's mercy.. He didn't like how it made him feel. Dirty, used, betrayed? Having choices and realizing they had choices, was what separated humanoids (oh, and other intelligent life forms) from monsters and animals.
But it wasn't like Nowe was putting him into any danger, he was helping. Really, if Nowe weren't there, he probably would be in a lot of trouble right now. So this was a good thing.
Not so good for his back, but good for something. At any rate, it could have been worse.
He could have been on the bottom.
Rolling over beside Nowe, Fayt held his head with one of his hands. It'd been close, he could tell from the sound of the creature shuffling away from the door. At least they were safe, part of him had wondered if the creature would try to follow them through like the night before. Good to know that they were safe here, if only for the moment. Eventually they would have to try to get out, just in case the thing was just rounding up more beings like itself. A pack would be worse. A mob would be the worst.
When Fayt's breath caught up with him, he glanecd over at Nowe. "For a second there I thought we were finished. You all right?"
From here.

"Y-yeah, I think so," he answered, looking over at Fayt with a weak, slightly shaky smile. They'd gotten away from the damn cat, at least. "I'm sorry about all that, really, I just thought it might be better if we didn't go barging in on other patients in another room. We could have ended up in a worse situation if the occupant wasn't friendly." He chuckled a bit, though his lungs ached. The air had rushed from his chest when he'd hit the floor with Fayt on top of him, and he, like the other boy, was struggling to recover it for a few moments. He sat up, moving very slowly to keep his back from starting up that shooting pain again.
"We're okay, though, right? For now at least." He said, sounding relieved as he wiped his forehead and looked at the solidly closed door. How many hours did they have left before night ended? In the gloom it was nearly impossible to tell. He hated the feeling of helplessness. That cat would have been nothing if only he'd had his sword...
"Damn this place anyway." Nowe muttered, looking down at Fayt again and touching his shoulder lightly.
"You're alright, though, Fayt? I hope I didn't hurt you." He seemed genuinely concerned. Nowe was a bit foolhardy when it came to his own well-being, but saving other people always came as a priority. At a place like this, there could be lives millions of times more valuable than his own. Fayt knew about other planets, other worlds... knowledge like that seemed to be far more valuable than knowing how to speak the language of dragons, in Nowe's opinion. They called him savior, but he didn't fancy himself one. There was nothing out of the ordinary about him. Against that damn cat he was just a weak human, easily overpowered and easily consumed. He hated the thought, but it was true.
Well, come to think of it, even if Fayt's life was somehow less valuable than Nowe's, it didn't matter. Nowe had a protective streak a mile wide. When it kicked in, his self-preservation instincts were reduced to almost nothing, if it meant the other person would be safe. It seemed to still be working out for him, since he was just bruised a little and Fayt still seemed to be generally fine.
