The Intercom

While it might have been nice for the patients to have an even longer break from the Head Doctor's voice, they were not quite that lucky. They were never given a complete chance to let their guard down, as was shown when the intercom came on both inside and outside with the sound of Landel's voice.

"Apologies for my absence, patients!" he said, sounding far more chipper than he had that morning. "I had a few things to take care of -- don't worry, nothing serious -- but it seems that the staff has managed just fine without me. Sometimes I wonder if they could run this place without me!" He chuckled lowly.

"Your last shift of the day will be the opposite of the second shift, like always, which means that adults will be in the Arts and Crafts room while the under eighteen patients will go to take a nice shower.

"Whether you're cleaning yourself or fingerpainting, do enjoy yourself! Night will be here before we know it, after all." And all of the patients knew what that meant.

The intercom shut off and the nurses went to gather up the patients.

Castiel
14 August 2013 @ 08:35 am
With such a specific plan in mind for the coming night, Castiel didn't have much to do during the daytime hours. He confirmed with Lloyd and Kratos over the bulletin that they would be trying again tonight, along with their meeting place, and so there wasn't much else to take care of until night actually came.

Which meant that Castiel more or less drifted through the day, keeping to himself. He spent the free shift out in the courtyard, making the most of the improved weather. Castiel had come to realize that there was something oddly comforting about the feel of sun on his skin.

But the nurses wouldn't let him spend the entire day outside, and eventually he was brought back in for the final shift of the day, which was to be spent in Arts and Crafts.

This was one of those rooms he never knew what to do with, and while a nurse handed him some scissors, construction paper, and crayons, Castiel slid them to the side and instead focused on watching the other patients around him.

Sora

It wasn't as if Sora had meant to fall asleep after his talk with Tsubaki at breakfast. Usually the nurses wouldn't stand for that kind of thing, either, because they wanted patients to participate in all of the activities. Maybe he had looked really tired or something.

He only came to when fourth shift rolled around, the sound of the intercom waking him up. Sora blinked his eyes open and rubbed at his eyes, yawning as his nurse came by and set a hand on his shoulder.

"Feeling better, Matt? Come on, a shower will wake you up!"

Sora had to admit, that sounded pretty good, and so he didn't hesitate to stand up from the couch and follow his nurse into the shower room. He made it a quick shower, though, because he didn't want the day to be a complete waste, and also because he'd made plans to speak with someone named Sechs over the bulletin the day before. There was no way he was going to go back on that promise!

Once he was done washing off, he quickly changed into a fresh uniform and headed back out into the Sun Room.

Sora

[From here.]

Sora wandered back over to the bulletin board after leaving the showers, hoping that he might run into the person he'd talked to over it yesterday. He remembered the description Sechs had given him: tall, dark hair, yellow eyes. That was the sort of thing that should stand out...

But if Sechs was over eighteen, there was a good chance that he would be in the Arts and Crafts room instead. Sora could try and beg one of the nurses to let him go check, but he didn't know if they'd be all that happy with him after he'd slept most of the day.

Well, he'd wait around for just a little longer. If Sechs didn't show, then Sora was going to ask a nurse anyway. The worst thing they could do was say no, right?

[For Sechs.]
