Miketsukami Soushi

When Lingormr had mentioned that they were heading out to get medical supplies, surgical ones, to be specific, he'd expected the place to look a bit more like a doctor's office and less like some kind of chapel. There were benches neatly placed, and a podium of sorts, along with other things one might expect at a place of worship, rather than any sort of medical office.

Soushi finished sweeping the room with this light and looked questioningly to Lingormr. Had he walked into some kind of trap? Did the man already suspect something?

"I don't think this is the right one," he said quietly, his tone a mixture of uncertainty and reproach, as any child might be when an adult has made a mistake. It was possible he'd simply picked the wrong person to follow and Lingormr had no more clue of where he was going than Soushi did. But the man had seemed fairly sure of himself. He tilted his head curiously at the other and waited to see if there would be some kind of explanation.

There was still no sign of any visible threat in the hallway, but if anything, that only made Soma feel more on edge. Just because she didn't see it didn't mean it wasn't there.

Still, the door to the rec field was just ahead. Soma glanced over at the Once-ler, indicating it with a wave of her flashlight as they headed for the open air.

As Castiel hobbled his way through the door, a wave of dizziness hit him. For a moment, he could brush it off, as he wasn't in the best physical state, but as his head swam and he tried to adapt, he felt everything around him change.

The colder temperature made sense -- they'd been heading outside, after all. The soil under his feet also fit in, but as his vision cleared and he looked around, Castiel realized they were nowhere near the institute. Surrounding both him and Lust were trees, thick and numerous enough that they blocked out any light the moon might offer.

He heard chirping and shuffling in the distance, the sign of animals or perhaps something much worse. Castiel pressed the bottoms of his crutches down into the dirt to steady himself and then looked around in awe.

Where were they? How had they ended up here? It was like they'd suddenly teleported, but he certainly hadn't used his wings to make it happen. Something Landel had set up, then... He had said something about getting lost, hadn't he?

"It looks like our plans have been set back," he said finally, letting out a breath as he tried to figure out where they should go from here. How far from the institute were they? He doubted it was far, since Landel wouldn't have wanted them to be out of his jurisdiction. Unless the rebels were responsible for this, but that didn't seem likely.

Soma took a step through the door, and the world shifted.

She couldn't find another way to describe it. One minute she'd been pushing the door open, bracing herself for the cold winds outside, and the next--nothing. Then, a sharp, intense smell, like antiseptic, and a darkness that was almost stifling.

It was a moment before she could orient herself. She was in a cramped room stuffed to the brim with cleaning supplies, and as she turned to see if the Once-ler had followed her in, she knocked over a mop, which hit an aerosol can and fell to the ground with a clatter.

"I don't understand," she said, her eyebrows drawing together. "That door..."
