Day 27: Breakfast
Day came too soon.
Sora hadn't been able to find Rena, had instead been forced to crumple onto the grass of the recreational field and bleed all over himself, and hadn't even accomplished what he'd been sent out to do. What he'd been entrusted to do. He didn't know how he was going to be able to face Renji and the others, but he also knew he wasn't going to hide from them, either. That would just be low, after all, and he was ready to face up to the consequences.
He didn't try to make excuses for himself. Even though there had been a Special Counseling patient, they had managed to take her down by sheer numbers. The fact that he hadn't seen any sign of Rena was what had him the most worried. He hoped he could find her today.
The boy laid in his bed for a good while that morning before his nurse finally came in to collect him. She clucked over the bandages wrapped tightly around his chest and leg, and asked him if he was okay to walk.
Once Sora assured her he was fine (he didn't really want to use crutches, as that would just attract attention to himself, and he didn't need others worrying over him), they made their way to the cafeteria. Sora yawned and winced against the bright light of morning - it seemed even earlier than usual, and he realized why when they entered the cafeteria and found it empty.
The boy shuffled over to grab a chocolate chip pancake, a bowl of cereal, and a glass of milk (good for the bones, or so his mom had always told him) before settling at a table. He kept an eye on the door, hoping he would see Rena walking in soon.

"I do not know" was all she replied.

But that was hardly a good enough reason not to worry over her safety.
They daytime, so far, seemed normal enough, though even that couldn't be trusted too much. "What do you want to do? So far Ichimoto Ren's just been meeting a few people here and there." By mentioning the alias he'd been using this time around, at least Ojou would know what name to use if she ever had to reference him. Not that it ever happened. "If you want to be on your own, I can meet up with you later. Otherwise, you can come back with me and meet his guy I've been talking to if you want. I think it's a good idea to meet as many of the prisoners as we can. Get a feel for them, you know?"
After all, Ojou was the decision-maker; he just posed some suggestions.

But Ai wasn't really the type who would tell what she feels, face-to-face. She was going to play along. Just play along, even though her sense of doubt was overpowering her sense of sense of trust. It would waver sooner or later. It was always like that. She didn't want the same thing that happened before to happen again too.
She took the chance of having a moment of silence before speaking again; to get the feel of everything. She was busy deciding on what to do next too. It wouldn't hurt to eat something while she was there, yes? The facility wouldn't try poisoning her or anything. Ren seems fine, why not?
Ai nodded, and said: "I want to have breakfast first, afterwards, please show me around". Whatever that meant, it was entirely up to Ren to comprehend.

Seeing Ojou eat regularly was something of a novelty, so he just nodded and sat back, at ease with her request, vague though it was. He'd have to explain what else he knew, and try to remember the details of that map he'd been shown...
Lucky he was pretty good at retaining facts at his age.
The tail end of the shift was spent in relative silence, although it was the sort of quiet they were comfortable with.
[and after veering that off in my own direction, I'll double post to another area for us? Since you seem busy. XD]
