Day 27: Breakfast
Day came too soon.
Sora hadn't been able to find Rena, had instead been forced to crumple onto the grass of the recreational field and bleed all over himself, and hadn't even accomplished what he'd been sent out to do. What he'd been entrusted to do. He didn't know how he was going to be able to face Renji and the others, but he also knew he wasn't going to hide from them, either. That would just be low, after all, and he was ready to face up to the consequences.
He didn't try to make excuses for himself. Even though there had been a Special Counseling patient, they had managed to take her down by sheer numbers. The fact that he hadn't seen any sign of Rena was what had him the most worried. He hoped he could find her today.
The boy laid in his bed for a good while that morning before his nurse finally came in to collect him. She clucked over the bandages wrapped tightly around his chest and leg, and asked him if he was okay to walk.
Once Sora assured her he was fine (he didn't really want to use crutches, as that would just attract attention to himself, and he didn't need others worrying over him), they made their way to the cafeteria. Sora yawned and winced against the bright light of morning - it seemed even earlier than usual, and he realized why when they entered the cafeteria and found it empty.
The boy shuffled over to grab a chocolate chip pancake, a bowl of cereal, and a glass of milk (good for the bones, or so his mom had always told him) before settling at a table. He kept an eye on the door, hoping he would see Rena walking in soon.

"Agreement: The design of human bodies is an efficient model for locomotion, but very difficult to use with any alacrity. Most humans are not capable of any true coordination. They usually have a dominant hand which has been trained more heavily for accuracy and precision than the other. Most are not able to use both hands with equal skill, and find it difficult to perform two complex tasks at the same time, although that is partially due to a general inability to engage in parallel processing." HK was quite able to do all the tasks described. It was yet another little detail that made him feel much better about himself.
"Statement: Most humans are unable, except in very round-about ways. Still possessing a droid mind at the conscious level, I find it much easier to simply access information the way a meatbag would do so with a computer interface." He had even rearranged things in the ganglia. He found it funny that few humans even knew they had multiple proto-brains spaced through their spinal column. "Since your VUX meatbag thought process may function differently than that of a human, it may be possible to access some programs that are generally off-limits in the human brain. Or lock you out of more of them. I am unsure." He took out his notebook, and started writing strings of code on both open pages, both hands holding pens and moving in synchrony along the paper. "Offer: For what good it may do, this is the command pathway I employ." The two pages were ripped from the book, and soon covered on both sides with small, printer-perfect script. He handed them across the table to the meatbag.
"Addendum: There is at least one Jedi here. They do some training in the meatbag way of gaining some control over neural pathways." He wasn't all that happy that Jedi were here. He looked out over the crowd, trying to find them. Why are there no Sith here?
The Mandalorian still appeared to be here at least, but he was dealing with a juvenile meatbag... or was that the brother? They had looked quite similar.

He watched HK write with open admiration. "That's quite remarkable! I'm still having a bad time of it, I'm afraid... I can barely write at all. These... fingers aren't suited to proper writing."
ZEX took the piece of paper eagerly. Anything could be helpful! And he did always have a mind for mathematical things... perhaps he could decipher this. It was something, and that was what counted. "Oh, thank you! I'm sure this will be of great use to me. If I can repay the favor someday, please let me know."
Jedi...Jedi, that sounded familiar. Wasn't... "I think I may have spoken with one of the JEDI that you mentioned. Someone named... KWI GON? Quite handsome but..." ZEX trailed off again, looking down at the paper he held between his two hands. "He had some very odd ideas as to how I got here. I didn't quite agree."

The offer was noted, and filed away for consideration. At the moment, he wasn't quite sure how it would do much good, but this meatbag was from an uncatalogued spacefaring species. If he could learn something about their technology, it might be quite useful to Sith research.
"Negative: The meatbag I spoke with was an apprentice. Possibly of the individual you mentioned. His designation was Obi Wan Kenobi." Another jedi here? He wasn't sure whether that was something to be happy about, or a reason to bang his head against the table in frustration. Why are there no Sith here?
"Agreement: Jedi have very bizarre views on most subjects. Being an assassin model, my opinions have generally been in conflict with theirs." They thought there should be peace, justice and equality throughout the galaxy. He just liked to kill things.

"More than one Jedi... well, at least there are some other starfaring races here, that's reassuring. We're not entirely alone, I suppose." Although ZEX did note the mention of assassin, although he simply filed it away as something to keep in mind i the future.
