Nightshift 26: Hallway Outside M41-M80 Block

[from here]

Armand spared a glance back over his shoulder at the hallway outside the bathrooms at the end of his own block but didn't see anyone so he pushed open the door (to his left instead he realized) into the larger corridor he remembered well from last night. There was a door immediately to his right. So far everything was still quiet. That made him nervous. He wanted to find Javert as soon as he could.

Oh, the maps, of course! Peony had showed them to him earlier in the day, but he had forgotten about them. He was going to have to copy them from the emperor at some point, since they wouldn't always be traveling together and he wanted his own. That could wait until some other time, though.

He peered down, scanning it over as he nodded to himself. "Okay, so down this way, then make a right, then into that door... All right!" He smiled his thanks to Peony before turning in the proper direction to continue walking. It wasn't far, which was good. They would be able to pick up this mystery girl and get on their way in no time.

Guy had been ready to explain how Nebilim (and Legretta and Arietta) were clearly special cases, but something about what Peony said forced him to pause. He made sure to keep walking - they would be wasting time otherwise - but his tone sounded a little concerned when he spoke again. "Night before last? What do you mean?" Guy already had a feeling about what was going on, but he had to make sure he'd heard correctly.

The hallway was pretty long and strangely creepy, though it only served to heighten Peony's sense of adventure. That, coupled with the odd heaviness of the air, brought a rather otherworldly feeling to Peony's heart. It didn't scare him in the least, though - this place kept coming up with new and unexpected ways to amuse him.

"Yep, you got it! Let's go!" He was rather cheerful walking down the hallway, although frank when Gailardia asked for clarification on his statement.

"Hm? Don't tell me you don't remember - you, Jade, and the rest of the little crew tracked down Saphir attempting to revive Jade's big mistake, the replica of Professor Nebilim. It was only but hours before I arrived here," he said nonchalantly as he strolled down the hallway and turned the corner. "I didn't even get a chance to visit Saphir after it happened."
