Day 26: Men's Showers (fourth shift)

The concept of showering with a bunch of children terrified him, but he refused to let it show. He was over 130 years old, and they wanted him to get naked and bathe, surrounded by kids very nearly a tenth his age. It was certainly inappropriate. On the other hand, he had to shower. It was his third day in this asylum, and he had not been given the opportunity for a shower yet. The idea of wiping off the filth of the last two nights seemed ideal.

Thankfully, he seemed to be the first one there. Maybe if he were quick about it, he could shower and leave before too many of the children came in. He got undressed, and stared at the showers for a second. They were significantly different from the ones he was accustomed to, but after a small amount of trial, error, and scalding hot water, he managed to figure out the system.

He'd just need to get through the showers quickly and efficiently, and then get the hell back to the sun room.

"Yes... they took him amidst dinner, though I haven't the clue as to where, so I could not go after him right after the doors unlocked." Larsa confessed sheepishly, even if he knew he was powerless to help on his own. It was good to see that their parties were so organized amidst all the chaos that encircled them, and he only hoped that those who were injured recovered fully in the morn.

The child was at a loss of what else to contribute, absent-mindedly soaping himself up while he pondered of what to bring up next.

"Oh! What plans have you conjured up for this evening?" He did his best to smile, more relaxed even though it still felt somewhat awkward.

"Well, now we know where they take them, so if anyone else we know gets grabbed, we'll be ready!" It was so easy for Sora to look for the silver lining sometimes, as worried as he got sometimes that he would forget. No one had been killed, as far as he could tell, even if they had been put through horrible torture. Now they were as safe as they were going to get in this place.

He didn't like the idea of Kairi being out of his sight for another night, but Axel would take good care of her. He felt like he could believe in that. Maybe he didn't have a heart, but he knew right from wrong... At least to an extent.

"Hmm? Oh! Well, I'm waiting to see what's put up for the Arts and Crafts group on the bulletin board, actually." They usually put assignments up right before dinner, so the boy wasn't too worried about that. "How about you?" He was almost ready to rinse the shampoo out at this point - at least the shower was going quick!

"Arts and Crafts... Oh! I know what you are speaking of! They advertise themselves quite a bit on the bulletin board." Larsa could only assume that it was some sort of organization centered around gathering objects and information to fuel their escape. It was nice to see that so many people were working hard amongst one another for one cause.

"I myself am traveling with my guardian to offer a lady... well... a 'tour' of the Institute, for lack of a better word." He smiled slightly, also finishing up his shower. Back in Ivalice he had always been guilty of soaking in long baths, but it was a luxury he could do without while he was residing within these walls.

"I hope your night proves fruitful, especially since it feels like less and less is being accomplished with the time given to us."

"Yeah, that's how they make sure everyone knows what's up!" Sora explained with a sage nod before dunking his hair under the water, closing his eyes as it washed the shampoo out of it. Once it was done, he jerked his head up and back, which sent some water flying behind him, and then shook around like a dog.

As for Larsa's plans, Sora had to admit he was a little interested. After all, the way he said it made it sound so important! "Really? Which lady are you talking about?" It probably wasn't anyone that Sora knew, but with the was Larsa had said it, he pretty much had to ask.

Though hearing that last comment made the boy frown slightly, especially considering what he had just heard from Luxord. "Look, don't think that way. It'll all turn out okay in the end!"

"Her name is Celes and she says she was a military general of some sort, though I cannot pin her age above twenty." Larsa answered as he reflected their conversation back earlier that morning, suppressing a yawn as he did so. Maybe t'would be advisable to rest in the Sun Room and regain the strength that he lost over the tiring nights.

"My apologies, Sora." He smiled a little. "T'would do us no good if I was pessimistic on the whole matter. What matters is that we try our hardest to achieve our goals." Hopefully that meant stumbling upon anything of use while they showed Celes around. Larsa's head map had fogged a little, so this would be the perfect opportunity to exercise his mind.

"She sounds neat!" Sora chirped as he collected some conditioner to finish things off. A female general - that was pretty rare, wasn't it? And to be so young made it even more impressive. The boy tried to think of some equivalent. Maybe Mulan? With the way things had been going, he wouldn't have been surprised if she had ended up in a position like that.

"It's okay, you don't have to apologize," Sora said as he turned to face the other boy, his hands up in his hair as he coated his spikes of hair with conditioner. He seemed to have forgotten about how he was supposed to be embarrassed and was more focused on just finishing up so he could get to the Sun Room and check the bulletin board. "Just yeah, keep your head up! Things'll work out."
