DAY 26: Men's Showers (Second Shift)

Gluttony didn't want to leave his Lust, not after he'd just found her!  But the mean tasty nurses said he had to.  "You can't join her in the women's showers" was a bad excuse.  He didn't like the mean tasty nurses.  Maybe Lust would let him eat them later.  Still, he knew he would see his Lust again, and that was good.  He liked Lust.  She was good and beautiful and smart and kind.  Why did they have to take him away from his Lust?

Still, he would see her again.  And she would tell him it was okay to eat the tasty nurses, and that would be good.  His new friend liked eating people, too.  That made him happy to find a friend who shared a love for eating people.  Today was a very good day.

As he entered the showers, he stood under a shower head and opened his mouth wide to drink up the water.  It wasn't as good as eating people, or eating waffles that didn't scream when he bit into them so weren't nearly as good as eating people, but it was still swallowing something, and that made him feel better.

The police department. Annette had sent her only daughter to the heart of the city during a viral outbreak. Her reasoning, which William could easily guess, was making him wonder if perhaps he had married an idiot. Well, more of an idiot than he had initially believed.

"I see." All too well, unfortunately. "And Sherry was where when you last saw her?"

"She's being taken care of by some of my people. I have her in a secure location." Wesker was keeping a close eye on her, just in case.

"Don't worry about her, William."

William nodded. He could trust Wesker to do an efficient job at keeping Sherry out of the wrong hands (Especially those who would see there was something very different about her). Wesker had yet to disprove this by doing anything stupid, so William would just have to remain content with this knowledge.

Now to more important topics, before he developed a headache just from thinking about Annette right now.

"Exactly how did each of us arrive here?"

"I have absolutely no idea. The last thing I remember was sitting in my base. I don't remember anyone attacking me, one moment I was there, the next I woke up here in bed," It was quite unsettling, really. The same way he woke up in Landels each morning.

To pull someone from the dead was one thing, but to abduct someone then completely remove all memory of the incident ever happening was completely new altogether. Even with chemicals or hypnotism (or whatever else that could have been done to alter the mind and its memories) there was some sort of remnant of memory left behind.

"Whoever is behind all of this is very skilled, I must say."

"Yes, they are quite advanced. They have abducted everyone here, no one, as far as I know, remembers being taken, anyone with enhanced abilities has been weakened, and each morning we suddenly appear in our beds," Wesker had absolutely know idea what they were doing, to be able to maintain such a level of effectiveness. Then again, patients did vanish entirely on occasion. Perhaps they became resistant to whatever methods were being used and had to be removed?

William frowned thoughtfully. Wasn't this just a grand mystery. At least he wouldn't be bored during the day, William could admit this to himself. Especially if he had things to learn and research rather than just sit around all day long.

The other inmates wouldn't have to suffer the mind games if this kept him busy, that was for certain.

"There are more people with enhanced abilities? Not just your daughter?"

"Yes, there is a man here who can move objects with his mind. Apparently he's also from some movie Claire watched. And then there is someone I experimented on after you died. Jack Krauser, there are others too, I am sure," Wesker was quite impressed with how many unusual people Landel had managed to abduct.
