DAY 26: Men's Showers (Second Shift)

Gluttony didn't want to leave his Lust, not after he'd just found her!  But the mean tasty nurses said he had to.  "You can't join her in the women's showers" was a bad excuse.  He didn't like the mean tasty nurses.  Maybe Lust would let him eat them later.  Still, he knew he would see his Lust again, and that was good.  He liked Lust.  She was good and beautiful and smart and kind.  Why did they have to take him away from his Lust?

Still, he would see her again.  And she would tell him it was okay to eat the tasty nurses, and that would be good.  His new friend liked eating people, too.  That made him happy to find a friend who shared a love for eating people.  Today was a very good day.

As he entered the showers, he stood under a shower head and opened his mouth wide to drink up the water.  It wasn't as good as eating people, or eating waffles that didn't scream when he bit into them so weren't nearly as good as eating people, but it was still swallowing something, and that made him feel better.

Existence certainly was a strange thing, so full of variety. He had never really been too concerned with realities outside of the one that he inhabited, it was quite enough for him.

"It sounds as though your world has quite a lot of work left to do," his was doing quite well, as far as he was concerned. The humans were having trouble with the occasional war, and the past century had been particularly bad.

"Yes. I was working on that before being captured." He was, in a sense. Not out of any charitable intentions, but he didn't really need to mention that.

"I suppose that being human, or having once been human, you are much more qualified than I to deal with human affairs. Have there been many human wars in your world in the past hundred years?" Sparda was curious to see just how similar their worlds were, and what humans were like where Tartaros was from.

"Many wars. Humans are quite skilled at finding excuses to fight amongst themselves." It was both a threat and a necessity, with how things stood for him. "I fought in one, when I was still human. World War I." If it hadn't been for certain events there, he would have never gotten the chance to open the box.

"Yes... there have been occasions when I have been rather concerned for the humans of my world," It wasn't his place to help humans fight one another. Sparda had decided long ago that humans should decide human affairs, so long as they did not try to summon demons. It was when they dabbled in the supernatural as they called it, that he would get involved. "It is amazing, though, how quickly humans advance."

"Only when they have immediate need to advance, or for war. Most of the greatest advancements are used exclusively for millitary purposes for years, before becoming available to the rest." He was sounding rather like his old, actually technocratic self. Now, the philosophy was more of a means to an end. He supposed the sentiments would make good cover here, where he had to appear reasonable...

"Yes... I do not often keep up with the cutting edge of technology, though there are occasionally interesting human inventions," Like the airplane, for example. That was a truly amazing stroke of human genius.

"Yes, occasionally." He could think of several that Arachnos had been working on... Most of the recent advances had been from reverse-engineering Rikti technology, however. It didn't matter where it came from, really, as long as Arachnos stayed ahead of all the rest.
