DAY 26: Men's Showers (Second Shift)
Gluttony didn't want to leave his Lust, not after he'd just found her! But the mean tasty nurses said he had to. "You can't join her in the women's showers" was a bad excuse. He didn't like the mean tasty nurses. Maybe Lust would let him eat them later. Still, he knew he would see his Lust again, and that was good. He liked Lust. She was good and beautiful and smart and kind. Why did they have to take him away from his Lust?
Still, he would see her again. And she would tell him it was okay to eat the tasty nurses, and that would be good. His new friend liked eating people, too. That made him happy to find a friend who shared a love for eating people. Today was a very good day.
As he entered the showers, he stood under a shower head and opened his mouth wide to drink up the water. It wasn't as good as eating people, or eating waffles that didn't scream when he bit into them so weren't nearly as good as eating people, but it was still swallowing something, and that made him feel better.

However, that wasn't always the case, as the latter was painfully adamant about coaxing an answer out of him.
"Why would I ever be happy about being in a place with you?" By then he inched himself forward and away from the shower head so he could properly lather his hair, starting from the scalp and massaged downwards until he managed to catch every strand of his hair. The faster he got through this the sooner he could mosey out, hopefully without Dist in tow.
He didn't feel particularly inclined to answer to the man's next words, so he chose to say nothing. But at least the latter had some usefulness in him, and this clued him in on that he wasn't the only one given a false identity. Jade was almost curious enough to ask what they'd given Dist, but that would mean giving the man unnecessary attention.

Quickly finishing up with his hair, as his was much shorter and easier to deal with than Jade's, Dist turned to watch Jade for a moment, fully prepared to speak. However, he quickly learned that carrying a conversation while in the shower was... much harder than he originally thought. Dist wasn't seeing anything he hadn't before, but this was Jade. Instead of speaking again right away, Dist went back to rinsing his hair for a bit, as if he had left any shampoo clinging to his locks.
How frustrating. He knew he had to talk with him before Jade ran off and avoided him for the remainder of their time wherever they were. Taking another try at facing the man, Dist stammered, "... I saw Anise earlier, too." A good start, but he was already gnawing on his bottom lip, wondering if Jade would listen to him even now. "At breakfast, I guess it was. A-anyway, she mentioned something strange and I wondered if you might know anything about it... or worse, if you're stuck in her same timeline."
What if Jade's last memory was similar to Anise's? What if he hadn't seen Professor Nebilim, and therefore all of Dist's efforts wasted? "Just tell me what you last remember from Auldrant! Forget this place for now and tell me everything!! And you'd better not disappoint me, Jade!!"
no subject
Admittedly, even then his voice was merely background noise along with the rushing water and other chatter in the room. But it was only when he heard the word 'timeline' did the Colonel perked up, even going as far as to turning his head to face Dist for what was, quite literally, the first time in nearly a year. His facial expression was almost quizzical before looking forward again, rubbing his chin in thought.
"I see, so it isn't just Luke..." At least it was nice to know that this supported the redhead's 'memory loss', even though that ultimately made things a bit more complicated. Yet instead of answering Dist's questions, he imposed the man with some of his own.
"What was the last thing Anise remembered? If it was before Eldrant… no, even before the Tower of Rem, then..." By then Jade took upon a more professional tone as to remind Dist that this was merely a discussion of their current situation and nothing more.

Communal showers were a completely new concept to Peony, as was the cafeteria-style eating (and, for that matter, the crazy monsters running around at night.) Even though there was a definite part of him that wished he was back in Auldrant, this was an adventure of sorts, and Peony was going to experience it fully before Jade found a way to get them back.
That, of course, meant heckling Saphir in the shower.
The emperor would save modeling his 'battle scar' for later - now, he had to make a lasting impression, oh yes! Unobtrusively, he'd lathered up a washrag at a far shower, and crept over to the unsuspecting God-General, hopefully correct in assuming he'd be too ga-ga over Jade to notice the tall blond looming behind him...
...and began to wash his back with a grin.
no subject
It was when he opened his mouth to reply did he feel the washrag on his back. He straightened and shrieked loudly, whirling around in surprise and a little bit of fear... just to see Peony with that awful smug grin of his. Just when Dist thought things would be better now that he'd found Jade, he found he was sorely mistaken.
"D-don't touch me!!" was all he managed to screech out as he moved as close to the wall as he could without touching it. Glaring his most ferocious glare at the blonde, he sneered, "Why are you here, too?!"
no subject
impatientlywaiting for Dist's response when his train of thought was abruptly cut off by a loud shriek. At first he assumed that the God-General was overreacting over a roach landing on his head (Even though he didn't know why Dist wouldn't be happy to see his own brethren), but he quickly shook that idea off when he caught sight of a familiar shade of blond from the corner of his eye."Well if it isn't his Majesty," Jade responded with a casual smile, turning around so that he was now facing his friend. Dist was left to be forgotten for now, focusing his attention on someone who really mattered.
"This isn't any of your doing, now is it?" He gave a laugh. "After all, it seems like quite a feat if you’re doing all of this just to watch me shower."
no subject
He chuckled, dropping the rag he'd used to wash Saphir's back on the washing bench (it was way too dirty now to consider using) and lathering up some shampoo in his hands so he could wash his own platinum-blond locks.
Oh! That reminded him! His cool injury!
After he slapped the shampoo on his hair and mussed it up a little bit, Peony extended his arm to Jade, the bandage having been removed by the nurse before his shower. There was literally a chunk of flesh that had been ripped out of it by a hungry bat. While it had stopped bleeding, the pain still seemed fresh. "Check it out! A battle scar! Got it from a monster last night!"
Only Peony could be so cheerful about the whole ordeal..
no subject
But when the emperor pointed out his scar, Dist felt the color leaving his face. Not for the fact Peony got hurt of course, but the reason as to why he got that scar. "... Monsters? There are actually monsters here?" He looked up to Jade, about to ask him if he still was able to use fonic artes, but he stopped before he could even open his mouth. Why wouldn't he be able to? Even with a Fon Slot Seal, he was able to quickly relearn his abilities. He was truly amazing... and this place surely didn't have such technology.
That was good! Jade could protect him. ♥ And Peony could be left to his own devices as far as the God-General was concerned.
no subject
"Your Majesty, I do believe that isn't something to be cheerful about." It wouldn't do Malkuth any good if its beloved Emperor wasted away in this prison, so he began to toy with a plan of escape in his mind. From what Luke told him over breakfast, it didn't appear to be as simple as hopping over a fence. He contemplated this while consciously moving away from Dist when the God-General dared to get any closer.
"How long have you been here, and have you come into contact with any others from Auldrant?" First things first, he'd have to make note of who exactly had been taken, and then schedule some kind of meeting so they could all gather their bearings.
no subject
Easily returning his hands to his own head, he lathered up his hair. Man, it was too bad that little dream he'd met at breakfast couldn't follow him here. It'd been a little while since he'd had a woman wash his hair, anyway, and Cyrille had been an extremely cute hunny.
He chuckled, getting his hair all nice and full of sweet-smelling shampoo. Yeah, Jade was worried about his arm, but he'd be fine. It wasn't like he wanted it to happen again, but it'd be proof that he'd lived through whatever this Landel's place was, once he got out of here.
Peering over Saphir's
stinky midgethead over at Jade, the emperor spoke more seriously now. "As far as I can tell, it's you two, Luke fon Fabre, Asch the Bloody, and, as I said, Gailardia Galan Gardios. I arrived last night, what about you?"Unlike Saphir, Peony was admittedly a little concerned (well, as concerned as he could get about things, which wasn't much) about Jade's fonic artes, and decided to bring it up. "There was a Seventh Fonist who tried to heal my arm at breakfast, but she couldn't get her artes to work. How's your Fonic Sight?"
no subject
He'd be damned if he had to rely on Peony to help him with anything. Hopefully Jade would come to his senses and help his original best friend out in case he needed it.
... but of course, Peony seemed already dead set on ruining that, considering he made it obvious that he doubted Jade's hold over his fonic artes... but more importantly, that he was worried. Now it looked like Dist wasn't...! Damn him; Dist huffed and decided to take the route that showed his appreciation of Jade's power, stammering out, "He's Jade! Don't compare him to some hapless Seventh Fonist!!"
no subject
"As touching as your concern is, his Majesty has brought up a good point." Jade found himself answering, reaching for the dispenser and applied a good amount of soap into his hands before lathering up his entire body.
"It's been removed."
As with the removal of the fontech from his glasses, that was the first thing Jade noticed when he awoke earlier that day. He hadn't thought much of it back then since it could be reapplied without much difficulty, but everything was becoming all too consistent for him to ignore it now.
"I haven't tried to conjure up a Fonic Arte yet, but I can assure you that I haven't felt the effects of a fon slot seal since I arrived earlier this morning."
no subject
Still, there were a bunch of ways to make the shorter man angry, and Peony looked forward to exploring them fully during their time in Landel's.
"Hmmm. But no fon slot seal, that's good." That was all it took for Peony to be assured. Jade could take care of himself, and Peony didn't have to worry about him beyond that. It was good to be able to trust each other.
"So how has your morning been?" he asked, as he dipped his head under the water, the question no longer obviously directed at Jade.
no subject
He thought a moment, then looked at Jade again. "Wait, does that mean your weapon is gone, too...?" It was likely anything having to do with fonons, separating or not, could no longer be used. He sniffed loudly, thinking of his precious chair, as well as the fact that none of his wonderful robots would work, either, had they been with him. This place was worse than the Malkuth Military prison. At least he knew he could still do what he did best.
If Jade's weapon was gone and there were monsters around like Peony claimed... how were they going to defend themselves? With Peony here, Jade would probably leave Dist to himself (bastard), which meant... well, perhaps he could find some personnel to lead him back to his room, where he would hide in all night.
Too pre-occupied with his thoughts, as well as the fact that it was Peony who asked it, Dist ignored the emperor and continued rinsing himself off quietly. He was already finished, but he'd stick around until Jade left, upon which he would follow the man around as best he could.
no subject
It wasn't too long before Jade finished as well, but he chose to stick around for a little while longer to answer Peony's question. After all, he wasn't the one suffering any grudges or bouts of jealousy, oh no~
"Informative. I at least have a solid understanding of what goes on in this place thanks to Luke, but sadly it's nowhere near the amount of what I need." It looked like he had some homework to do while it was still light out, and he intended to use his time to its full potential. And with that in mind Jade twisted the knob of his shower, beginning the tedious process of wringing all the water out of his hair while stepping out of the stall and making his way back to where his clothes resided.
no subject
"Jade. Get the scoop and let me know on the bulletin, all right? M62," he said cheerfully as his best friend left. Surely he'd figure out what the last bit meant. Jade would find a way out of here, Peony knew it. He could think his way out of anything. That was the only thing he was good for, anyway.
With that out of the way, there had to be some fun things to do while he was in the shower with a bunch of other guys! Maybe he could find a little girly one like Saphir to bug ♥
