Night 74: Conference Room 1
[From here]
Scar slipped into the Conference Room and found nothing of immediate threat. A table and chairs for meetings, and the panel he had expected to see. It glowed in the dark, out of place in the office.
He didn't know how the thing worked. It just seemed like a panel on the floor, and little else. A fixture of lighting one might see in the ceiling. He frowned. Of course it was supposed to work, but... he was uneasy about it.

It was the dimly lit panel she was referring to specifically. It all came down to understanding. She understood nothing of how this place worked, what laws of physics and nature it abided by. The promised panel looked so mundane and the sudden wariness that this was the trap came upon her.
Where would it really take them, if it took them anywhere at all?

"I can go through first, and check back here," Scar suggested, attention turning to Lust. Lloyd had no reason to lie about how it had worked, though he could easily see why no one would want to have anything to do with it.

Lust snapped closed the book and drew close to Scar, looking up at him. Her expression was one of soft determination as she met his eyes. He was being good and honorable, and it was one of the things that made him him. Perhaps he was a vicious killer, and a man who's moral compass was heavily skewed. But he was still a good man who tried to do the right thing, misguided as his ideas were.
He had offered to go first into the unknown and it made something squeeze inside of her.
"We'll go together. I've lost so much in this hellish place and I'm not losing you again." Not this night, not when separating would be utter madness. No. They would go together or not at all.

"Fine..." There was a hint in his tone that she was the one being ridiculous, but he didn't grow angry with her. His eyes darted between the panel and Lust. He hesitated.
"So... what. Did you want to count down or something?" He wasn't even mocking her. She was so ardent about the together thing, that he wasn't sure how seriously she meant it.

Lust just raised an eyebrow and offered her hand to Scar. "We'll just step on it together. For all we know, it's been tampered with and it could send everyone who steps on it someplace different."
And she wasn't tracking him down. They'd maintain physical contact and step on it together and that would be that.
She hoped.

They weren't going to have to do this for all of them, were they?
