Her lack of curiosity about his admission made everything easier. It didn't mean she wouldn't have questions later... he would have to be prepared for them... but it did mean that she wasn't going to waste time on them now, or allow them to become a distraction. They couldn't afford it.

"Yes." When he was sure she was ready, he stepped onto the pad. They hadn't needed to take each other's hands before; they shouldn't need to now. The world would spin away regardless.
