Night 72: Main Hallway, 3-Center (includes Observation Halls)

[from here]

The layout of the third floor matched the others, from all Taura could see. And she knew exactly where she was headed -- the doors directly above the one Homura's key had opened. Where, rumor had had it, they might have the brainwashing equipment. Which also meant where they might have their real bodies. Wherever it was, it was in use tonight -- the floor of the sun room had become a battleground, again, and Taura didn't have time to watch people learn not to underestimate someone based on their height. As amusing as it generally was, they had a job to do.

The first door was locked, with the heavy stillness that said heavy artillery wasn't getting through it, let alone human strength. So was the second, and the third, which brought her back towards Rita. She shook her head. "Well, that didn't work. You pick a door, next?"

Of course the doors were locked, Rita thought bitterly. Whoever had built the institute had designed it to be as annoying as possible to get around in. She suspected it was Landel's fault - most things were.

Well, if the south doors didn't work... "Let's try the other side," Rita suggested, walking to the opposite end of the glass wall that offered a faint view of the Sun Room, across from where they entered the hall. She tried the nearest door, and...

It didn't open. Irritated at their lack of success, Rita gave the door a sharp kick. The force caused the door to jostle, and she realized the handle was a bit looser now. Maybe they could get through with a little more force...

"Hey, see if you can open this," she told Taura, stepping away to the side. If it was muscle they needed, her companion had plenty to spare.
