Day 25: Intercom, Evening
The intercom clicked on with its usual jingle, the Head Doctor's voice carrying with a bit more authoritative ease than it had earlier.
"Good evening, patients, and I'm pleased to announce that we've finally finished organizing when our new batch of patients will be introduced, and unfortunately, it'll have to be tonight while you're all in bed. Truly sad, that, as I'm sure all of you are eager to see our new faces as soon as possible!
"In any case, the dinner that will be brought to you tonight will be herb-marinated pork roast with buttery corn-on-the-cob and fluffy mashed potatoes. Of course, we have our usual vegetarian salad available to those who request it, along with our regular assortment of drinks."
He paused and sighed. After all, it had been a long day.
"Oh, of course--Some of you may be unhappy to hear that Dr. Crane and Dr. Jiyani will no longer be serving us here at Landel's Institute. For those of you who were scheduled to have sessions with them, we'll be providing a substitute group therapy session in upcoming days. More details on that tomorrow.
"I believe that's all for now. Enjoy your dinner!"
The intercom clicked off.
[ As always, post to this entry with separate threads for each set of roommates. Thanks! ]

He didn't understand why Kurikara was referring to him as 'human' either. He would have to remember to ask where this boy was from at some point also. Perhaps people spoke differently to each other where he came from.
...The other worlds concept was never going to fully sit with him.
no subject
"I don't need it." The words came out as a low, rumbling growl, more exasperation than anything else. He wasn't good with children.
He was trying to look friendly? Kurikara rolled his eyes. "What are you talking about? Don't bother. I'm not interested in friendship, false or otherwise." He leaned froward and cocked an eyebrow at Sai, offering another sharp little grin. "Your face is going to stick like that if you keep it up, and then I'll really get pissed off."

He stood up, making his way to the drawer where he had stashed all the gardening supplies from the previous night. They were still wrapped up in the shirt, and he dropped the load upon the floor with a loud 'clank'. His flashlight was there as well, and he tested the batteries again to make sure it was still working. Sasuke had said to get this metal to someone, because it could be made into weapons, but he hadn't told him who to take it to. He wasn't about to run through the halls with all of it again without a precise destination. He removed the two trowels he had used the night before, as well as a third, three-pronged sort of gardening tool. He also took the long-sleeved shirt they had been stashed in. He would need a makeshift belt again. The rest he could store away once more.
He then turned to his roommate who, though he didn't seem to like Sai all that much, was still in the same position he was and may therefore do well with a makeshift weapon also. "Would you like to arm yourself?"
no subject
He watched Sai unpack his various tools and things, curious despite himself. He'd seen some if this stuff in the greenhouse, though he didn't actually understand what most of it was supposed to do.
He hopped off the bed and crouched beside the pile of makeshift weaponry. It would be a good idea to conserve his strength when he could. He picked up a trowel, blunt and awkwardly shaped. He needed to make himself a sword.
"This metal is decent for forging." He said, almost absently. "I'm taking this one."
no subject
Perhaps this boy would know, and he'd end up carrying the metal around with him tonight after all.
One more look around had him ripping out a couple pages from his, as of yet, unused journal and rolling them up, as well as grabbing the pen that came with it. Tonight he might have to give his skills a try. If Sakura had some hold on her chakra then he should try also.
no subject
He stood, holding the trowel in one hand and made a smooth stabbing motion with it. It would do for now. "Do you have a map?"
no subject
He began performing a few stretches, limbering himself up for running if he'd need to. It felt like he'd been stationary all day.
no subject
As far as he was concerned, he was ready to go for tonight. He didn't trust Sai enough to take him to the other shinigami, but he would leave a copy of his map laying around the next day.
no subject
If there was nothing left to discuss, then Sai waited for the doors to unlock. Once they did, he would attempt to find Sasuke. The other boy seemed to be situated in the same hallway.

With a careless wave over his shoulder, the dragon was gone.
