Night 66: West Wing, South Hall 1-A

[From here.]

This was a trip that had gotten old ages ago, and so Harvey tried to make it as short as possible by falling into a brisk walk. He didn't go so far as to jog, since he didn't need to tire himself out before the action even started, but it was a good idea to save time where he could.

All of that was made very easy by the fact that there weren't any other patients around. He didn't know if it was because they were busy going through a painful transformation into some deadly monster, but if that was it, then he also wanted to get to a more open area sooner rather than later.

Harvey reached the end of the hall and rounded the corner into the main hall.

Edgar's brow furrowed as he took in Tolten's information; he mentally lined up the pieces with what he'd gathered from his talk with Guy earlier in the day, and it painted an unfortunate image in his mind. While he knew a lot about disassembling machines, the inner workings of human beings were another matter entirely. He may have had the precision required with his hands, but neither the skill nor experience to do the job himself, if that was indeed the only way to cure Locke of his condition.

Still, they had to do something. Either way, barricading him in his room and attempting to incapacitate him was the hand they'd been dealt and the one they'd possibly have to play for now. It was risky, especially when they were taking the words of a few other patients— while he was ever an idealist at times, even Edgar knew better than to trust everyone. Wires got crossed, truth got mixed with rumor and became a tangled mess where separating one from the other was nigh impossible. Was this surgery their only option? Or was Locke doomed to his fate?

Edgar refused to believe that just yet. He liked taking matters into his own hands and deciding his own destiny. If there was anything to be done for Locke, they'd find it.
