Night 66: Beginning of Night
When the static died down, the Head Doctor's voice sounded distorted. Even if it had been clear, though, it wouldn't have made his tone any less dark.
"Let's just cut to the chase, shall we? The doors are going to unlock, and you're all going to head out into your little rat maze, following those ridiculous clues in hopes of saving yourself and your little friends. If this is your first night, don't worry. You'll get used to things soon enough -- if you don't die, at least.
"Some of you keep a lookout for the monsters that roam the hallways, and rightfully so. But maybe some of you should watch your backs when you least expect an attack. That's my helpful hint for the evening.
"Good night."
The intercom shut off, and a loud click from the doors signaled that the locks had reversed. Patients were free to wander at their own peril.
