Day 65: Intercom, Evening

As some of the clouds from earlier began to clear, the intercom jingle sounded over the intercom once again.

"Hello, patients!" came the Head Doctor's cheery voice. "I hope you're all feeling fresh and clean this evening! To top it all off, we've prepared a scrumptious herb chicken dinner for you to eat before bed. Of course, we have vegetarian options available, so please don't hesitate to ask the nurse if you're interested in that.

Also, since we have the pleasure of welcoming a few new patients into our family, some of you will be receiving new roommates. Let's do our best to give them a nice, big Landel's Institute welcome, shall we?"

The Head Doctor gave a friendly chuckle. "Well, anyway, enjoy your dinner!"

With that, the intercom shut off.

[Note: All dinner threads are posted in response to this entry. Be sure to check the Roommate Assignments if you're not sure what room/roommate your character has! Thanks.]

Rapunzel nodded slowly. "Inspecting" was one way to put it. Still made her want to gag, though.

"Yeah. I'm not looking forward to it, but I have to try. I'm probably the only person around who can heal a wound like that right after it's been made," she explained. "And the sooner we know if it works or not, the better. I don't know what Sora's doing tonight, but whatever it is, he won't be able to do much of it until we can find a way to cure him."

“Trying whatever we can is about all we can do,” said Tsubaki. If Rapunzel was set on helping with that particular plan of attack, it would do more harm than good to question her decision. The only thing to do was bolster her friend’s confidence as much as she could. Rapunzel could pull it off if she put her mind to it. “It might be hard, but I know you can do it. Try not to think too much about what you’re healing. The important thing is if you can stop the infection to let the mind and soul start healing; the body can come back from all sorts of injuries, but without all three there’s no point. Think of it like you’re healing them as a person instead of just the incision.”

Tsubaki couldn’t refute the other girl’s logic, either. If this surgery business yielded a cure, then Tsubaki supposed it was worth a try. Depending on how things went with Leanne and Scar, hopefully they would have something helpful to add that could cut back on the dangers of a hasty surgery.

It was too bad Rapunzel didn’t seem to know anything about Sora, though. He was going to be with someone, right? Whatever he decided to do?

She scooped up a small piece of chicken with her fork. “One way or another, there’s a cure out there. And then Sora will be fine.”
