There were a lot of prisoners milling around in the main hallway as usual, but Aidou hadn’t wanted to draw their attention and had zigzagged around each group on his way to the female block. Now that he was nearing his destination, the people were thinning out, making it easy for him to move unhindered.

But was Aigis still in the girl’s area, or had she already left? For once, he hoped she was still around.

After having thought about it, if there was one person he might benefit from warning about other vampires around, it was her. And if things went well, maybe she could be another set of eyes and ears now that all of the others concerned about vampires were gone… Well, it was a little early to be placing hopes in an unknown variable, but at this point it wouldn't hurt to try.
