Nightshift 24: Recreational Field
[from here]
Something told Luke that he really shouldn't have followed Masaru. It was that little voice, the little voice that told you not to touch that button, or pull that lever, or use that Fonic Arte when Tear was trying to sing a Hymn and possibly interrupt and doom your party to a loss, but Luke was still uncertain of this place. He had but a few newfound friends to place his trust in, and Luke knew that he couldn't go alone.
That said, Masaru looked so confident in knowing where the Sun Room was that Luke didn't think he could possibly be wrong. So Luke followed, like a good sheep, to the door that Masaru was leading them too.
Opening it, Luke was expecting to see Larsa and That One Girl, awaiting them with news of what would happen next. Instead, he was greeted by darkness. His eyes eventually adjusted to the weak moonlight to show a field.
"Uh, Masaru? Are you sure this is the Sun Room...?" Luke asked, sounding very worried. Now that he thought about it, that shed in the corner seemed kind of... familiar...
... Because this was the same field that they were in just hours ago!
"MASARU! I THOUGHT YOU KNEW WHERE YOU WERE GOING!!!"

Ginji stepped outside, surprised to actually find that he had made it outside.
"Wow!" he said, a little too loudly before covering his mouth. The looked around and then up, looking for monsters that might attack him. He shined his flashlight around and caught sight of a blond man that seemed to be hurt.
He went to him with a worried but cautious expression. "Are you okay?" he asked.

Indra had received nothing since the failed hunting attempt of earlier. The meager pickings of outside weren't enough. There was never enough.
This time, however, the demon was going to try something different. From its position far back in the corner of the Field, its massive bulk hidden behind the equipment shed, it slowly raised a blue hand towards Jack Horner. Magic, of a quieter sort than before, gathered around its monstrous fingers before seeming to disappear.
And suddenly? Suddenly... Jack might begin to feel drowsy. Sleepy. His body was injured, wouldn't it be a good idea to rest? The night was made for sleep; why contradict the natural order and stay up? Just a few minutes of rest would do wonders...
...whether successful or not, Indra began silently gliding towards the two humans, the razor-sharp discs on his hand and feet slowly beginning to spin in anticipation. Soon it could rip, and tear, and devour...

Well, at least this one seemed like a friendlier sort than Recluse had been. He also had a flashlight, which was something Jack was sorely lacking. He walked towards the new guy and smirked, unaware of the monster that was watching him. "You don't seem to be the type to start fights with strangers, buddy," He stuck out a hand, hoping that the other would be quick for friendship. "What's your name?"
...why was he suddenly so tired? Oh, right...he had lost alot of blood, probably more than he realized...maybe he should sit down and rest for a few minutes...

"Do you need me to get something? Don't pass out or anything. I don't know if I could drag you back inside without hurting you more." He felt a strange prickling on the back of his neck, the sensation of being watched and looked around. "Can you stand up?" he asked, looking back to the other blond, his voice had a bit more urgency to it.

Its blank face made no sign as to whether it was pleased by this turn of events, nor did it betray its quiet gait with an incriminating sound. Jack need only wait for a little longer, give in to the strange lethargy for a minute more, and Indra's insatiable appetite might yet be appeased.
And there was even another to add to the feast. Surely, the demon would feed well this time!

"I'm not gonna pass out," he assured his new companion. "I just wanted to catch my breath for a moment. If you wanted to help, you'd get me some painkiller. Like morphine, for example." He cocked his head and lazily looked up. "What's the hurry, anyhow?"

Then the face mask slid open.
Row upon row of sharp teeth were suddenly bared, and in an instant Indra was upon them. That fanged maw attempted to bite down on Ginji's shoulder, a demonic arm attempting to wrap around Ginji and hold him still, to crush the human against the demonic cuirass and prevent him from running away.
The other one, the one suffering from that crippling lethargy, could follow soon thereafter.

Pain shot through his body as a reminder of his previous battle as he returned to a standing position. Jack might use that as an indication to run away, but this guy had been trying to help him and Jack generally didn't turn on allies. At least, not like this.
He may have lost his crossbow and flashlight to Recluse, but Jack still had a couple of sharpened pens in his coat pocket that he had been intending to use as the bolts (but was never given the chance). In an attmept to drive this...creature off Ginji, Jack fished one from his pocket and stabbed at it, trying to get it in the head. Without a flashlight, though, he couldn't be sure if he hit his intended mark or not, though he was pretty sure he had gotten SOME part of the monster. "Hang on!" he added to Ginji, as an afterthought.
It occurred to Jack that he had probably just reopened a few of the wounds he had managed to tend to and cursed inwardly. Why couldn't he heal the way he had gotten used to as of late? Taking damage again was REALLY making things difficult...

Ginji's free arm lashed out to focus more of the attack on the monster, touching the head that was clamped down on his arm. He struggled to get away, but only ended up tearing his shoulder against the teeth.
In his terror, pain, and panic he felt his mind start to slip away.

The pen stabbed into Indra's face, but what did that matter? It had no eyes to blind, it had no ears to deafen, and the thick ichor which streamed down its face didn't seem to slow it down or to bother it in the least. Nor did that flailing arm seem to be regarded more than the death throes of a prey animal, or so one would have to assume from the way that diabolic monster paid both attacks no heed.
That electricity, though...
That electricity was drawn into Indra's body like a plant soaked up the sunlight, the great Demon of Thunder ignoring its first target in favor of this new tidbit about its chosen morsel. Before their eyes each blue bolt was drawn into Indra's own body, lightning crackling and hungry like a living animal as it began gathering in Indra's halo, began shooting between each of the three prongs of Vajra, the sharp points of the lance conducting the thunder and feeding it, containing it there.
At the same time, Indra's other hand, the one with the razor-sharp discs, blindly began trying to score down Ginji's side, down his torso, anything to draw blood, to draw pain and fear to the surface of the young one's mind, eager for more of that raw power...
no subject
"What the hell is this thing?!" He cried, not exactly conscious of doing so.
At a loss for what else to do, Jack scampered behind the creature and tried to wrestle it into a hold long enough to free Ginji. He did this by sliding his arms under what appeared to be its shoulders and pinning it to his chest.
The minute he tried this, he realized the folly in his ways. Afterall, his collar bone was broken and his chest sliced open...
God damn it, it HURT even to breathe. He could feel his clothes soaking with blood again and he let loose more explatives. Still, he managed to hold on by reminding himself that he only needed to get the creature OFF Ginji and that the kid would owe him then. It was nice it was dark, though; if he decided to let the tears all this pain was causing flow, no one would see them.

Ginji tried everything he could though, attacking the monster's head with his free hand and its body with his legs. He just wanted to get free. "Let me go!" he yelled, desperate.
no subject
Its alien face slowly turned, as though trying to track Jack's movements. Then, just as slowly, it looked down to where those arms were wrapped around its shoulders. The massive, heavy weapon of its right arm couldn't reach directly behind it, not with the force necessary to cause damage.
Therefore, it raised its left hand in front of itself. Ginji was forgotten, it seemed, as those two razor-sharp discs on that hand began spinning rapidly, whirling like saws before Indra slammed them down. If Jack didn't remove his arms from Indra's body, then Indra would be happy to carve deep chunks of flesh out of the man while he was being so obliging.

-OH, CRAP! THAT THING WAS TRYING TO ATTACK HIM NOW! Jack quickly released his grip and stumbled backwards, trying to get away from it and its hands of death. He knew he wasn't moving especially gracefully or as quickly as he wanted, but he would have to make do, injuries withstanding. There was NO WAY he was going to let this monster kill him. He was better than this; he'd fought giants, outsmarted the devil and the grim reaper, even triumphed over a bagman, whatever those REALLY were (albeit, with a bit of help from another). There was no way he couldn't handle THIS challenger.
...so why did he have the nagging feeling he was royally screwed? Perhaps he was mistaking extreme blood-loss with self doubt. That must be it. He was not going to die here! He was JACK HORNER.

Okay. He was outside. That was a relief. James had half-expected to find the door locked or some other nasty thing behind. Imagine his joy that it was number #2 instead of #1. In retrospect, a locked door would have been better.
Whoever-Those-Guys were, they were getting their tails kicked by Whatever-That-Thing was. Crap. James hated being a hero. He just wanted to find his wife. Was that so much to ask?
Flicking his light on, James turned it on the Thing and brought his fingers to his lips, letting a piercing whistle.
"HEY! You!"
He turned the volume up on his radio with his free hand, waving the flashlight wildly at what he guessed was the thing's head while keeping distance between it and him. With luck, it might drop its person-kibble and...
Okay, maybe this plan wasn't the best James had ever come up with.

He fell to the ground and looked up at Jack and the monster, when the new comer came he was barely aware of the noise. One of his arms wrapped around his torso, clutching the bleeding wounds. The torn shirt and blood of his shoulder was ignored for right now. His eyes were narrowed and angry, though he didn't move to attack, not even to save the man that had protected him. For a moment, he was too stunned to move.
no subject
That beam of light finally illuminated Indra's face, and James could see where blood seeped between the crease in that mask, dripping onto the ground as Indra suddenly froze.
Its only motion after that point was to begin raising its lance towards the heavens once more. Once more the air felt tense, like the calm before a storm, the faintest tingles of static electricity betraying Indra's intent. Soon lightning began crackling from its body once more, hungry and vibrant and unrestrained; not at all like the sparks Ginji had attempted shortly beforehand.
But who would be the target of its attack? The one Indra had already sought to devour? The most wounded of the three? Or the newcomer, who was begging for retribution for his insolence?

The kid didn't seem to hear him, so he tried again. "Let's go! Let that guy fight if he wants to, but I'm not sticking around." Jack knew he was in pretty bad shape himself, but wasn't sure the extent of the injuries Ginji had suffered- another thing a flashlight would have helped with.
Jack looked at Indra, though, when the demon begain to crackle with electricity. He had meant to ask Ginji later what the deal had been with HIS electric move earlier, but it hadn't occurred to him that Indra would be able to act in the same manner. Only its electricity appeared to be stronger. Jack slowly backed away, glancing first at Ginji to see if he was going to follow, and then at James, to try and determine what his next course of action would be and how he could benefit from it.

This was definately not one of the creatures James was used to dealing with. Whatever switch had occured here in Silent Hill meant that acid-spitting was no longer the most powerful thing these demons could do. Still, this creature wasn't as bad as Pyramid Head could be.
"Hey! I said over here!"
James waved his arm again at the thing, dancing the beam of his flashlight over its face. He was hoping to distract it even as he edged right towards the courtyard. Going to the left looked like a dead end.
"Move you all! Get somewhere safe!"
He hoped they could hear him over the sizzle and pop of electricity. If that thing went nuclear or gave chase, he was running to the right. What he didn't know was if the monster was faster than he was or not.
"Come on you ugly thing!"

The... thing... started to give up its own power and all Raitei could do for a moment was stare in hunger. Then he was up and attacking it. He had no real care for injuring it, only for stealing the energy coming off it. Once he had it, even if it hurt (which it wouldn't have if they were any other place rather than here) he would be able to heal and either find a way to kill this thing or find a way to the shed to get a weapon to kill this thing.
It had hurt Ginji, badly; it couldn't be forgiven.

No, its focus was entirely on the one who had once been Amano Ginji. Its focus was on the hungry look in those eyes. And its hunger was far greater than any mortal man's.
The flashlight's frantic beam illuminated the mask sliding open once more, that maw opening wide in what might have been a grin of triumph. Electricity crackled between them, power shooting between their bodies as though they were dynamos instead of demons.
Then Indra roared. It was a roar that could deafen men, a primal howl of hunger that might have sent primitive men huddling in their caves and ancient priests setting up offerings to appease the god-demon's insatiable hunger.
And what an offering had been given. Raitei's flesh and blood tingled, as different from that of normal mortal's as night and day. Despite all of those wounds, Raitei was still fighting, punching and striking at Indra's unholy body with far more fury than had previously been shown. Even Indra, the mighty demon, felt the sheer power behind each strike.
The reward? Indra swiped at the attacker with its left hand, either driving off its assailant or cutting deeply with its discs... then it pointed Vajra, the Celestial Thunder, at Raitei. Once more lightning shot out, aimed directly at the one who had struck Indra. If he wished for power? If he hungered for the lightning which put his own to shame? Raitei would receive it.

"Hey, let me see that a second," He said, turning the beam of James's flashlight away from the skirmish and at himself, opening his coat. It wasn't as if the fighters needed further illumination; they were lit up like a bug zapper already.
Hm. Well, the second flow of blood didn't appear to have made it to the outer layer of shirts yet, though the evidence of his first fight was still apparent. And even if the clothes were effectively soaking up the blood, it didn't lessen the pain any. Jack smirked at James. "You don't have any bandages or painkillers, do you?"
So what if there was a deathmatch going on a few feet away? It obviously didn't concern Jack anymore.
no subject
"I don't, no. I did last I remember, but I woke up in a room back there somewhere, and... what's going on?"
Silent Hill was weird, no doubt about it, but he hadn't seen anything like this yet.
"Where's Angela? Or Laura? Have you seen either of them?" James asked, keeping a weather eye on the battle as he directed the beam of light more on Jack's injuries.
"What part of Silent Hill are we in? Is this Brookhaven Hospital again? I was at the Historical Society in the tunnel."

When then massive lightening attack him him, he felt extreme pain course through his body. He wasn't burnt the way he should have been, but his muscles felt as if they had been hit by something heavy. He had to fight through it, and he did. Pain was no problem to him. He got rid of pain or he ignored it. That was his job. It pissed him off that he couldn't just take in the power and hold it as he would have been able to back home, in Mugenjou.
He attacked anything on the monster that looked vulnerable, not caring that his knuckles broke when he hit hard parts too.
