NS 61: Sun Room
[From here]
Renji entered the Sun Room cautiously, pausing to listen. He didn't hear anything. But of course he didn't hear anything. If there was someone waiting in the Sun Room, they never did show themselves until it was too late to run. Just like everything else in this fucking place.
He shifted his grip slightly on the mop handle and moved inside, heading toward the door to the cafeteria. He trusted Daemon to have his back.

Then he glanced at the guy on the floor. He'd done his time shepherding stupid people around. He wasn't eager to do it again. He indicated the way they'd come with a jerk of his head. "Get out into the hall and shut the door behind you."
That said, he headed for the door on the other side of the room, keeping an eye on Daemon.

There were always other experiments to be had though. But not if he didn't persist.
The red-head was suddenly telling him to get out, but that was the last thing Baka could actually do. He couldn't leave! Not when he was so sure that the rest of his creations had to have wandered off in this particular area. What if one of them happened to get its first kill and he wasn't there to be the proud parent, witnessing the carnage?!
He needed a reason to keep up with these guys, and to keep them from trying to leave him.
Breaking his previous decision to "keep quiet", he scrambled up from the ground and called after them. "B-but wait! What if... there's more? You just said there could be more!"

"If there's more, you don't want to be here. Get out of the Sunroom, it likes luring in nasty surprises. If you're alone, then get the hell back to your room and stay there until sunrise. Then spend tomorrow finding someone to travel with. You need two things after dark around here - a companion who knows what he or she is doing, and a weapon to protect yourself. You've got neither, so get out of here and hide until you can do something about it," he answered sharply, giving the man a cool glare before turning and following Renji once more, prowling carefully across the Sunroom while his eyes searched the shadows for more movement.

Maybe if the guy had been a kid like Sora (not that Sora would ever be in this situation, because for all his sweetness and light thing, the kid was a certifiable badass that Renji was willing to bet could put the fear of Sora into quite a few Shinigami out of the Gotei 13) Renji would have been more sympathetic. But he looked old enough that he needed to know how to take care of himself.
...and hearing what the radio had to say, Renji was even more certain that they needed to go check out the basement. And that they didn't need any dead weight while they were doing it.
He broke into a run, feet almost silent, intent on clearing a path if anything else was stupid enough to get in their way.

"Ah, yes but...!" he tried, frowning at Daemon while the other made his decision and took off running. When Baka realized that the man was trying for a way out, he brought his voice up again and called, "No, you shouldn't use that door! That's where it came from before!"
He didn't expect any more chipmunks were actually about, but part of him rather hoped that something would have wound up in the next room over, waiting to pounce the man. Unfortunately though, he knew nothing would go after the red-head for his attire, but maybe he'd double back when something tried to peck his friend's eyes out?
One could only hope.
[Baka Says: You two rolled a room and are free to head on without an attack. Additionally... he hopes Daemon gets rabies!]

"We're better equipped to deal with them," he called back, not stopping as he followed Renji. Not running, nothing was quite that urgent in his opinion, but his stride was swift as he glided after the redhead and moved into the next room.
[Going to here.]
