Night 60: Intercom, End of Night
A dry chuckle cut through the intercom speakers, interrupting any and all of the night's activities with a man's chortles in a sea of static. Given the speaker, one might have expected a diatribe of some sort, but it seemed the Head Doctor held more concise intentions.
"Ah, wasn't our evening simply delightful?" he breathed, the man's voice carrying an edge of delight. "I have dearly missed our little soirees. If there was one silver lining to this whole ordeal, it was that I've gained a better appreciation for breaking you in."
There was a pause.
"But why detail that now? I have all the time in the world to demonstrate my gratitude for each and every one of you, after all."
The intercom slid away to silence, and the night faded to shadow.
