Nightshift 24: F-Block Hall
[From here ]
Usagi reached the end of her hall and looked around. No one was there yet, but she heard noises coming from the other hallways. Were they monsters or other patients? Stifling a yelp she bolted for what she hoped was the cell block's main door. She tried to remember what the outside had looked during the day, but her memory was failing her.
Please don't let me get lost...

Rukia paused at the end of the hallway, looking around. No one was in sight, though, so she quickly headed left, toward the first Men's block.

Max led the way out of their hall, knowing Susan was following her. This hall seemed empty as well and she wondered where everyone was. Did most stay in their rooms to avoid the danger that lurked at night? Max couldn't blame them, she supposed. Pausing, she glanced down the hall that led outside, then shook her head. They needed answers before they made a break for it, which meant moving further into the asylum.
Giving a subtle motion to her roommate, Max again turned down the right-hand hallway and moved further into the building.

As Jean moved further from her room, she heard more noises. Whispers, shuffling of feet, but they were so quiet she couldn't tell if they were real or not. Maybe EVA was right, and she'd gone crazy...
No, she thought, as she touched her erementar gerad. How did this come with me, if I'm crazy? The person she was supposed to meet sounded more informed than she was. Talking with him would straighten things out, she hoped.
She looked around, her flashlight bouncing off empty walls, then turned left as the map told her to do.

She was sure she'd heard footsteps. There were people here. Somehwere.
"Hell~~~~~o?" she said, called out quietly, voice wavering. The pillow was lucky it didn't need to breathe. Had it been a living thing, she'd have crushed it by now and not even noticed.
"Anybody?"

Renji let himself into the F-block, just in time to hear a frightened voice calling out. A female one.
He came a bit closer, so he wouldn't have to be loud. "Quiet," he said. "You don't want attention."

footstepspipes full of air.Sheska... made a sound, an awful sound. It was essentially a scream. But there was so much more to it. The fear, the horror, the tears. It was the screech of mouse trapped under a cat's paw. The unwillingness to die quietly.
"Stay back," she whined, flashing her torch in the man's eyes. Her body language did nothing for her. She was clutching onto the pillow for dear life as her knees knocked together and her head tried to fold it's self down, looking for a nice hiding place between her shoulders.
"I'm warning you. I'm a little teapot," she sniffled.

He was now really regretting that he'd stopped.

The girl had reached the end of the hallway only to hear two voices: one terrified, the other obviously annoyed. What is going on? Gathering up every ounce of courage available, Rena called out to the figures, "Is something the matter?"

Was he a rubbish monster, a scary good-guy, or an evil genius just trying to confuse her?
"A-a-atta-" Oops. She had to shut up. But how was she supposed to ask qu-
She squeaked when she heard a female voice and clapped her hand over her mouth. If the guy wanted her to be quiet, she'd be quiet. Until she saw someone to rescue her, anyway.
This place was horrible, just horrible.

And then there was someone else. He didn't recognize her voice, but as many new people as there were these days, it didn't mean a whole lot.
"We're fuckin' here, aren't we," he growled; it was about the best answer to the second girl's question.
"You. Screaming girl. You shouldn't be by yourself." If this was how she was acting, she had to be new. "The name's Vice Captain Abarai Renji. Come with me, I'll fill you in." There was no mistaking his tone; he was used to giving orders, and he expected to be obeyed. He looked at the other girl. "You shouldn't be by yourself, either."
But he was running late already; no time for arguing. He started walking, toward the hallway where F7 was located.

And now he was treading down the hall where she had come from; maybe Rena had best follow them. Something warned her that this other girl wouldn't be too keen on being left alone with this man. A slight understatement, it seems, judging by the way she acting. "Are you all right?" Rena asked.

"Vice Captain? You're with the military then? Amestris?"
That was...good, right? Because military personnel could be trusted. Sometimes. But it meant she wasn't alone, at least. So nothing to worry about, surely?
But then...his name sounded foreign. What if he hated Amestris? Maybe she could pretend to be from...some other play. Xing? No, she couldn't pass for Xingese. Or Ishbalian. She was going to have to stick with what she was and hope it wasn't bad.
She followed after him and looked to the newer person.
"I'm ok," she nodded, smiling. Not that it would be worth much in the dark. Her tears had dried now and her voice wasn't as shaky. Being around another girl made her a little more at ease. "Are you alright? Do you know why we've been kidnapped?"

He stopped in the hallway, then, listening, feeling the disturbance in the air. And, if he concentrated... yep, someone familiar.
He looked right at Artemis and said, "Well, come on." He sounded annoyed, but didn't raise his voice. "Fuckin' kids," he muttered.
Then he headed down the hall again, his step purposeful.

"Artemis Fowl, the Second," he said quickly, "Forgive the intrusion, the halls make me nervous."
(Following Abarai-san... (http://community.livejournal.com/damned/120020.html?thread=7992020#t7992020))

Artemis poked his head into the doorway, looking around nervously for what the source of the scream had been. It didn't look like there were any monsters around--just two girls and a man.
The man was... Abarai-san? Wonderful, Artemis thought. If he sees me here, he'll chastise me for coming here alone. The boy wasn't too keen on seeing Renji angry, so for now, he closed the door as quietly as he could and stood next to it--hoping the darkness would mask his face at least a little bit.

Following as quietly as she could, Relena kept her flashlight off until she really needed it. She definitely felt a bit of reassurance when the other girl smiled at her.
Sakura's joke, however, didn't sit well with Relena. Sure, she wasn't a fighter, but she was a realist, though a pacifistic one. To keep the peace, she said nothing.

Momo looked up and down the new hallway, easily able to see around Alucard. She didn't see anything, but wasn't sure where to go next. It looked like there was a door to the left a way and one straight ahead. Logic had it that one of the two lead to a bathroom giving these were the living quarters.
She stayed silent and waited for her companions, much more familiar with the area, to decide which way next.

And at this moment the vampire was still being punished for his offenses from earlier in the day. He did need to be fed, but how could she ever offer him such a reward unless he first earned it? And that’s all this was. Feeding was a privilege, not a right.
She had no worries that Alucard may ever attack the girl when she was not present though. Because such an act would subject him only to the severest of punishments. Ones that would make simple slaps and condescending treatment seem like pleasantries.
When they reached the end of the hallway, Integral paused to consider the separate paths. Things always seemed different within the dark, but she could remember being brought to the women’s bathroom already today. “Left leads out of this cellblock I believe.”

"Where to?" he asked in a rather detached tone, arms folded. Let them call all the shots. Then at least, if they ran into trouble, it'd be all their fault.

"Left sounds like a good idea, Hellsing-san," Momo relpied to Integra's indication of exit.
She headed to the doorway, the blonde following, and listened for sounds on the other side. Hearing none, Momo quietly opened the door and held it for her companions. The shinigami's eyes were scanning the hallway beyond as she waited for the other two to pass through.

Renji followed the same path back to the hallway for the f-block, where he'd found Sheska. He paused at the door to look out into the main hallway, listening for anything untoward. He was back down to pens for defense, which was annoying - he just hoped he wouldn't have to use them.
He glanced back at the girls. "Dunno how good your night vision is," he said, as quietly as he could. "If you can, keep your flashlights off 'til we get where we're goin'. Otherwise just keep 'em on the feet of the person in front of you so you don't accidentally blind me."

And he'd said it so casually. Perhaps he didn't know the Elrics. But how could a member of the Amestris army not know the Elric brothers well enough to be amazed and happy that Edward was back?
"Are you... from the same place as me?" she finally asked. "Ed-Mr Elric. He disappeared... We didn't know where he'd gone."
He walked along after the Vice Captain and then grabbed his sleeve. "Does Alphonse know?!" she suddenly cried out. She couldn't hold it back. Alphonse needed Edward so much. And Winry too. But hopefully she wasn't a part of this mess.
She kept her torch off, deciding it was better to stay close on the heels of the one in front. But the torch stayed in her hand.

So instead she followed along silently, thinking to herself. And of course, thinking to herself meant running on auto-pilot, thoughts of cupcakes and kittens dancing through her head.

They made it to the end of the hall without incident (impressive, considering Kyouya's own first night). No sign of mischievous redhead or two in sight, or anyone else for that matter. "No monster corpses either..."
Kyouya fought the urge to scan the hall with his flashlight beam in case danger was only hiding in the shadows, waiting for the opportune moment. He looked around as best as he could under the circumstances, and glanced back at Renge.
"I assume you'd want to keep moving."

Holding tightly onto the bag of metal, Sora peeked out and then slowly edged out into the hallway. The worst thing that would happen at this point would be if they ran into another swarm of monsters that delayed them from making it to one of the rooms in time.
Luckily, it wasn't all that far. Quickly glancing over his shoulder to make sure they were still following (not that they had come all that far yet), he quickly (or, as quickly as he could with cut-up, bare feet) headed for the block's exit.
