Nightshift 23: Second Floor, hallway containing disciplinary therapy rooms and nurse station
[From here!]
The lock to the smaller hallway's door had burst. The door had slammed open. And Ashton had crept in, signaling to Xigbar and Naminé behind him with the end of a long metal ladle, gripping the other one tightly, ready to attack with his makeshift weapons if need be.
He didn't see anything yet, but that didn't mean that something wasn't lying in wait just behind the corner. It was dark, after all, and he'd just made enough noise to probably stir whatever was in here waiting for them. Anticipation crawled up his spine.. it'd only been two days since he'd been in a real, proper, honest-to-Tria fight, but was he ever ready for it.
He was ready to save his roommate from his terrible fate.
He was ready to be a hero again - not for the fate of the entire universe, but for one man. Granted, there were other people who had been taken tonight for the Institute's plans, and Ashton would help save them if he could.. but he had one priority right now. He'd save the eighth member of this elusive (yet ever-present) Organization, and he'd get him safely back to their room.
Now where the heck were they keeping the man?

Marluxia, though... he wondered who Marluxia was. The name sounded exotic and foreign, like Obi-Wan and Xigbar, and only served to remind him that he was in a place not his own. Yet somehow, the bonds he was forging, the alliances he was creating with every action... they seemed real. Even if little Manah was set on shaking both their foundations, saying things that no one was meant to hear, things that belonged in a dream.
No, the pain in his shoulder was reality. Axel's bloody torso was reality. Dias' rare smile was reality, and so were his scars. Whatever reality was.
Anyway, Ashton had said he was going. He was responsible for removing Axel from the situation as soon as possible, and he wasn't going to let the little girl spill any more of either of the men's secrets.
"Goodnight, Manah," he said, and gently carried his roommate out of the examination room and out to the main hallway. He only looked back once, past the empty space on his back where the dragons had been, over at the corpses of the orderly and the nurse. They had just been doing their job.. Too bad their job involved trying to beat the snot out of wandering patients at night.
[To here! (http://community.livejournal.com/landels_damned/98560.html) Please let me know if this is all right. If Manah stops them I can easily edit.]
