Night 70: West Wing, South Hall 2-B
[from here ]
Kyousuke rounded the nearest corner after Lloyd, not having caught onto the fact that he was just trying to distract himself. He swept his light down the hall, checking it over for anything unwanted, and just like the previous two times he'd been this way, it was both silent and completely empty. The door towards the middle was still shut, too, which probably meant nobody had come this way yet.
He knew that at the very end was the morgue, but he had no idea what any of these other rooms were used for, so maybe it would be easiest to start there. Explore everything in order. But before that, he turned back to Lloyd.
"Anything look familiar?" he asked. If it didn't, that didn't necessarily mean anything, but it was possible he remembered a little more than he thought, and there could be some kind of hint there.

Somehow, Tsurugi's reaction to his joke made Lloyd blink, his smile trading in for confusion, though there was still a hint of amusement when he spoke. "Huh? Come on, it's funny! What does age have to do with that?"
As they rounded the corner, he looked down the next hall, letting his flashing play across the walls. Uncertainty flickered across his face. Nothing looked familiar. That was the problem. "I couldn't see when I got out of that place. I didn't have a flashlight. I just followed the wall with my hand..."
His hand...
Tucking his radio back into his tool belt, he reached out and touched the wall. That night, how many doors had his fingers come across? A lot, but they'd mostly been in that first hall. Once he got out... The one he'd gone through. The one right next to it that had been locked.
Two doors on this end of the hall.
"I remember there was a door right next to another door," he murmured, stepping across the hall to the nearest door. He tried the handle.
Locked.
"It might have been... I'm not sure." No blood, no sign that he'd ever touched these walls. Unconsciously rubbing the back of his hand, he frowned at the next door down. "If we're in the right hall, I might have gone through that door."

He glanced between the two doors that Lloyd indicated. The first, the one he tried that had been locked, looked like it was in normal condition. But the one he said he may have passed through, like many doors around the institute at night, was totally rusted over and looked like it was barely being held together. Ideally, they'd check the first room too, just to be certain, but it was obvious enough at a glance that the second would be easier to get into, so maybe they should start there.
"Well, there's one way to find out."
Just to be sure, he tried turning the handle, but it was locked, so he used his metal flashlight to bust it up before helping himself inside.

Backtracking to the hall they'd just left, Lloyd swung his flashlight in an arc, left to right, making sure no one had come up behind them. The place was still as eerily quiet as it had been all night. No footsteps, no death rattle, nothing but the noise the two boys made as they walked. Unnerving as that was, Lloyd still felt something loosen inside his chest with every step they took away from the room he was pretty sure he'd been trapped in last night.
Keeping his voice down, Lloyd gestured to the right. "If we stick to the map, it's right, and then left."

"The eastern hall," he nodded, passing one of the smaller ones. He wondered about that one, too, but they'd have to start on the ends and work their way back. It would be harder to explore everything if they were too disorganized about it.
