Night 70: West Wing, North Hall 1-A

[From here.]

... Though it was a nice feeling, really. Walking through here with a flashlight again.

It had only taken a single night for Zero to detest how dependent he was on a simple light source. As a Reploid, darkness wasn't that big of a deal; his systems were good at adapting to his surroundings, including the absence or presence of light. But with this terrible human vision, he couldn't hope to navigate this place even half as decently without a bright flashlight to guide him. Then again, it was only one of the many, many complaints he had about being in a human body...

How did Ciel, Neige, and those other humans do it, honestly? Living like this was so...

...inconvenient.

Despite the fact that Lloyd had left right before Claude himself had shown up, there wasn't any sign of him out in the hall now. That was too bad, since Guy imagined that Claude would have felt better if he could have spoken to Lloyd himself.

Considering that he, Claude, and Anise might not be making it to the institute tonight, it did make it feel like there wasn't the sort of closure there should have been, but there wasn't much they could do about that now.

As they moved down the hall toward Luke's block of rooms, Guy glanced back at Claude. "I bought some supplies for us when I was in town today. You know, just in case."

Well, if Lloyd was up and about, that was probably a good sign. But even if he didn't have a lot of physical injuries, there was no telling what kind of psychological harm the doctors may have done.

"Hopefully he finds what he's looking for," Claude remarked. That was really all he could say until he could talk to his roommate himself, though, so Claude was somewhat relieved to be on the move.

When Guy mentioned the supplies, Claude glanced over at him with raised eyebrows. "Wow, really?" he said as he managed to muster a grin. "Sweet! Thank you for doing all of that." Since Claude himself had wasted the day away, it was good to know his friend was picking up the slack.

Of course, there was still something else Claude wanted to address, he realized as they moved further down the hall.
