Night 70: F11-F20 Hallway
One more night. Korra was thankful that she could finally get moving to doing something useful again. When she and Tsubaki were through with their nightly chat, she set off into the hallways.
Korra didn't really have a set goal in mind. She just knew that she wanted to do something. Maybe she'd get lucky and run into someone who had a better idea of what was going on, or someone else that she knew. Guy and Luke seemed to be pretty cool guys, even if Luke could be a bit annoying.
Or maybe he was just more similar to Korra than she was willing to admit.

Except for finding Luke. Despite looking all over town and asking around, there didn’t seem to be any sign of him. There was a chance that Guy ran into him, but… maybe it would be worthwhile to stop by his room, just to be sure. Anise was planning to visit another room in the same hallway, anyway. It’d only take a minute.
With no roommate to chat with, Anise had spent the dinner shift preparing her belongings. She changed into her Fon Master Guardian uniform and slipped her new tool belt on. It didn’t match the cute colors of her uniform, but that was a sacrifice she was going to have to make. Her mallet went into the holster meant for hammers, and in the other pouches, she placed her miniature flashlight, binoculars, some granola bars, and the radio-like thing a woman in town had given her. Who knew? Maybe it’d turn out to be useful.
Her remaining food supplies went into a cloth shopping bag, along with some useful-looking medicine and first aid supplies. It was a little cumbersome to carry, and she knew there was a chance she’d have to ditch it if she was in danger. But there was also a chance that those goods would come in handy, especially if this turned into a long journey.
Finally, she retrieved the pillowcase stuffed with metal objects that had been sitting untouched for several weeks. Her first order of business for the night was delivering it to Alphonse.
Anise paused in the doorway, looking back into her room for several long seconds to confirm that she was okay with what she’d decided to take. After all, if this went well… maybe she was never coming back.

Getting reliable information from the Head Doctor was a pipe dream at best, but Tsubaki still wished she knew what he meant. As for the rest, well... she wouldn't give him the satisfaction of showing him whether he was right or not.
They would find their own answers, eventually.
After thinking the choice over, Tsubaki settled for taking her radio with her, and once she had secured that within one of the hidden folds in her ninja uniform, she set off on her path behind Korra.

She moved with a slightly resigned determination that had become characteristic of her now. She didn't know what to expect. They were steadily making progress now, at least.

As soon as the doors unlocked, Lana wished Ilia a whispered goodnight, switched on her flashlight, and went out.
