Night 68: M-A Block Hallway
[from here]
For all the halls themselves weren't terribly different, the dark corridors sent a shiver up Al's spine. Perhaps it was knowing there were monsters prowling, but not where or how many--or who they'd been before. How fast did that sickness take effect? He had no idea if there was an hour or so of breathing room before his fellow inmates here might turn on him.
It wasn't a pleasant thought. Gripping the torch a bit tighter, he opened the door to the hallway.

Scar was quiet and wary as he came into the smaller hallway. It was a moment before he spoke.
"In your experience, how intelligent are the monsters here?" He was most likely just being paranoid, but that was Scar's nature. And he knew of at least one person who could have easily finish him off like that.

"I suppose... it depends," she answered haltingly. Of course Scar must have had questions. Who wouldn't? "Most of them act not unlike animals, but there are special ones that aren't like the rest. And other prisoners who end up doing what the hospital wants them to... It's harder to say, with things so confused right now."
Sora, for instance, hadn't been some bloodthirsty monster, but when he'd changed, when he'd attacked in that dark, oily form... He'd been more intelligent than the average animal, certainly.

"This happened at the worst possible time..." He trailed off, then. Because what if it was because of what was happening? A patient turned insane and inhuman? But Frank had hardly become anything with that kind of intelligence. Or maybe even-
"How many sick people have died?" He turned to Tsubaki, the words perhaps more forceful than necessary. He hadn't meant it; the idea had suddenly come on. Were the sick being killed off?

"I... I don't know," Tsubaki said. She only knew of Sora, and from what she knew his unfortunate death had been the result of a calculated act of self-defense. The others had been released from the hospital, as most of the prisoners who disappeared were.
Scar had been the only one attacked in such a way, or so she'd assumed...
