Night 68: M-A Block Hallway

For all the halls themselves weren't terribly different, the dark corridors sent a shiver up Al's spine. Perhaps it was knowing there were monsters prowling, but not where or how many--or who they'd been before. How fast did that sickness take effect? He had no idea if there was an hour or so of breathing room before his fellow inmates here might turn on him.

It wasn't a pleasant thought. Gripping the torch a bit tighter, he opened the door to the hallway.

"Where did you end up last night?" Kratos asked as they walked into the adjoining hall. It was more a question of curiosity than an actual desire for information, but one never knew: Tsurugi might have found himself in someplace unusual. Kratos counted himself well-versed in the winding hallways of the institute, but he could concede without hesitation that there was still more to be discovered and explored.

"Mostly around the institute," Kyousuke responded, trying to keep up a reasonable pace. He didn't want to push himself too hard, but he didn't want to slow them down too much, either. "But there were a couple of strange places. There was a toy store, ... and a place back in my world."

He managed to keep his tone neutral, but it was still frustrating to have that sort of thing dangled and snatched away like that, so he still ended up frowning as he pushed the door to hall open.
