Night 64: X-Ray Operation Room
[From here.]
The first thing Sora did as he stepped in was shine his flashlight into every corner, on the lookout for monsters that might have been waiting for them. It looked like the coast was clear, though, and so he quickly turned his attention to the actual contents of the room.
There was really only one thing in here that was of notice, and that was a control panel. "Hey, I bet this is what you have to use to make the X-Ray machine work!" Sora moved closer and started to illuminate the buttons and knobs with his flashlight, but it looked like a lot of the instructions had faded away. It was like they were trying to make this hard on them purposefully, though that wasn't such a huge surprise.
Other than that, the room had a cabinet and yet another door, so it looked like their search wasn't over just yet. Sora paused and turned back to Link. The other boy probably wouldn't be able to make sense of most of this, but Sora still wanted to give him the chance to look around.

He stood next to Sora, inspecting the strange array of levers and switches. None of it made a bit of sense to Link, and what few words he could find were illegible.
"I have no idea what any of this is..." Shaking his head, Link turned, shining his magic light around the room. He crossed to take a look at a chest of drawers of some sort, pulling each drawer open. There was nothing on interest... Some kind of paper and... Link frowned curiously, picking up the strange, stretchy loops and fiddling with them, trying to figure out what they did.
"Sora, what's this?" Link held up the band. He didn't know what kind of purpose it could possibly serve. And he wasn't about to waste an opportunity for something useful.

Link was busy looking in the cabinet, but Sora only turned toward him when the other boy asked a question. What he saw was Link holding onto a rubber band, and the realization that he didn't know what it was made Sora smile for a second.
"It's a rubber band! Mainly, you just use it to hold things together. Like, I dunno, pencils or something!" They could be useful from time to time, although Sora had always had a different purpose for them.
"Or, if you're handy, you can flick them at other people. If you do it right, it really stings!" That was the sort of thing he'd only do with a close friend, of course. Although in this place, maybe it could be used another way. "Hey, you might even be able to do that with monsters!" A rubber band to the eye wasn't going to affect most of them, but with the easier stuff it might be worth it.

"Well, you never know when something silly will come in handy." Link grabbed the spares, putting them in his pocket and making his way back over to the control panel.
"You are right, though. We ought to at least try to figure out how that machine works... And all of these switches and things." He frowned, trying to find a button that looked particularly important.

There didn't seem to be much else to do in the room beyond messing with the buttons and levers that were practically begging to be pushed or pulled, but Sora was still apprehensive. "I don't want to do end up doing something we can't undo, though." This was complex machinery and with two people who knew next to nothing, that could end badly.
"Maybe we should check out the next room first? We've got to hit a dead end eventually." Or just circle back out into the main hallway, where Lingormr was likely still waiting.

Link nodded when Sora spoke, turning away from the control panel to face him.
"That would be the best option for now, yes-"
But something interrupted his thoughts. Hearing the door slam the next room over, Link looked up through the glass window, seeing two figures entering frantically into the main X-Ray room.
"Sora, someone's come in." Link made his way for the door.

Sora nodded to Link. "Yeah, let's go," he said quickly, following after Link back into the room they'd come from.
