Aigis had to be dragged away from the Sun Room when she heard she had been chosen for 'therapy' after lunch. Therapy to help speed up the healing process, Nurse Cathy had told her. But Aigis knew it had to be a lie. This place didn't want her to heal. It wanted to program her into believing she was really that fake identity, Angela Cassidy, and not herself. But she was not human, not that girl, whoever she was. Aigis was sick of all the lies.
Despite having calmed a bit as the day progressed, all that went to pieces when she was pressed into the room with her therapist. She eyed the man with unconcealed contempt, keeping her back to the door and refusing to move any closer. There was even a chair waiting for her in front of his desk, but that held no temptation for her.
It was possible he was just as innocent of treachery as the normal nurses here, but she felt less inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt. There was something, something about his looks, that reminded her of someone. Someone dangerous.
