This insolent human didn't give in! Before the lurcher knew it, its arm was being hacked into as if its prey was trying to cut it off entirely. As cut after cut was added, the monster roared and started to turn toward the railing. Such a long fall would likely be very damaging to something so small-boned, whereas it would probably survive...

In any case, it needed to let go of the human sooner rather than later, and so it literally flung itself toward the railing with all of its strength, forcing it loose until it was pulled out of the ground.

Still holding onto Sechs' throat with a tight, tight grip, it waited for the railing to give out completely, sending both of them toppling toward the Sun Room floor. Its tough body would withstand the fall. Who could say it would be the same for the puny human?
