While the lurcher could charge with an immense amount of force, putting the brakes on its advancement was almost impossible. For that reason, it had really had no means of dodging the attack, and the axe crashed into its side with a loud sound that was both a crack and a thwump.

It had a very thick skin, but it was not made of armor or anything of that sort. The blade of the weapon stuck into it, but it didn't go nearly as far in as it would have on a normal human.

Instead, it just caused the creature to roar in pain and increased anger as the blood started to gush out of it, red as a human's. Still, even if it was injured, it was also close enough to get a counterattack in.
