Claude was stunned to hear his suspicions confirmed. So it was their friend Natalia! Wow, and to think the nurses would help them meet like this. Talk about crazy, especially with how unhelpful they could be about everything else.
Her tone and the words she used definitely set her apart from the rest of the Auldrantians Claude had met in Landel's. Considering she was supposed to be a princess, though, maybe that wasn't so unexpected. Then again, wasn't Luke some sort of noble, too? He wondered what their connection to Natalia was. It was clear the Auldrantians here either wielded a lot of influence back home, or at least were friends with people who did. It was just one of many mysteries surrounding them.
"Pleased to meet you, too!" he replied with a genuine smile. So Guy had mentioned him to her, then, which explained why she sounded surprised and happy to see him. Briefly scratching the back of his neck, Claude realized this was the first time he'd introduced himself to an actual princess like this. Was there some proper way he was supposed to behave? The first time he'd spoken with a king, he'd had to completely follow Rena's lead. On the other hand, Natalia hadn't formally made her title known to him yet, so it was possible she didn't want to draw attention to herself here, either. If that was the case, Claude couldn't say he blamed her. Not with psychos like Sync running around the place.
"Oh, yeah, I know Anise," Claude said with a nod. The reason why he'd brought up Guy and Luke was because they were the ones who'd mentioned Natalia to him the most recently, but of course it would make sense that they would all be familiar with each other. "I met her through Guy, actually."
He wished he could see what Natalia looked like. It was easy to imagine her as someone who carried herself in a confident, proper way because of her royal background, but there was no way to know for sure. Either way, it was clear she was someone he wouldn't recognize since she probably hadn't been here long for Claude to even see her in passing.
"You arrived not too long ago, right?" he asked her. "Are you...holding up all right?" Claude remembered how jarring it'd been to get snatched from his original time and place, only to wind up here, of all places. And he was someone who'd actually been through something similar on more than one occasion. He couldn't imagine how odd it must have been for Natalia.
