NIght 50: West Wing, North Hall 1-B
[from here]
There was no one here yet. And wasn't that strange? If she remembered correctly, there was a male patient block here. Even if it was away from the others, it should still be fairly well occupied. Were they all just staying in for the night? It was also odd that no one from the female block had come up this way yet either. Either it was just too early, or something had happened in her absence that kept others from coming this way unless they had a larger group with them (or not at all).
Callisto stopped to shine her light down into the adjacent hall, seeing if she could pick out anyone heading out of their room. She thought she heard the sounds of people moving about on the other side of the wall, so it couldn't be completely empty. Was there any point in waiting around? She didn't need someone to accompany her, and it had only slowed her up in the past anyway.
She would wait a bit, perhaps, if only to sate her own curiosity before moving on.

Nevertheless, he'd spoken up and she might as well learn what she could from whoever she could. If nothing else, she could always shove him in the way of danger. Never underestimate the value of a meatshield.
"Yeah, same here. Thought maybe there was something going on I didn't know about." Easy enough, seeing how long she'd been out of commission, but he didn't need to know that if she could help it.

"However, it would seem it is a mere matter of patients choosing to needlessly linger in their cells," the ninja commented.
Under normal circumstances, the lack of any accomplishments would hardly have been a wonder, but these were hardly normal circumstances. Nights ended abruptly, sometimes allowing one to venture to the nearby ruins, sometimes not even allowing the ninja little further than the patient blocks. It was unpredictable, and irritating...
He nodded to the door leading to the recreational field. "I don't suppose you were planning to head outside as well?" Why else would a woman choose to head through this hallway? The female blocks were located south of here after all.
If they happened to have the same sort of destination in mind...indeed, the use of meat-shields should never be underestimated.

"I was." Callisto nodded once, an odd smile playing on her lips. "Don't suppose you were going to ask if I wanted company?" She twirled her radio around one finger by its small strap, idly. "Because I don't. Not really. But, you know," she winked, "two heads are better than one."
Such a lame line. It sounded like something Hercules would say, but for now it had gotten the point across.

"Perhaps," he said, "But as you said, two heads are better than one. After all, it would not be the first time the recreational field happens to be guarded. I suppose crossing it together would provide an advantage to both of us." Not that he was in particular need of protection, but Tenzen hardly had any reservations about engaging an enemy in numbers. And if the woman in front of him would prove incompetent, she could always serve the role as life bait.
The ninja paused briefly, watching the woman for a moment with his dark eyes before he said: "Do you not agree?"
no subject
"I do agree. So I'm going to head that way, and you're more than free to follow." Of course, it would be important to establish that they'd be going where she wanted to go, or else he'd be on his own. He seemed like the sort of person who might be able to play the follower until it suited him otherwise. Whatever happened at that point, she'd just have to figure out then.
Without another word, she started off down the hallway and out the door.
